Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2013 & scheduling assistant

2018-07-04 Thread Jason White
Scheduling Assistant always shows the availability of the people you've invited
to the meeting. I haven't found a faster solution than to guess at a good time,
read the availability details of the people I've added, and adjust in an
attempt to find a meeting time that works.

I'm using Win7 and Outlook 2010, so I can't be sure this will work for you,
but it might:
Place focus next to a message where the rule applies. Don't open the
message.
Press the applications key.
Arrow up or down to "Rules submenu" and press enter.
Arrow up or down to "Manage rules..." and press enter.
tab to "Delete."

Hi,

I am using Jaws18 latest version. W10, Outlook2013.

I have many rules in Outlook2013 so messages go to separate folders.

I made a mistake and assigned an incorrect folder to a rule and I cannot
figure how to correct it.

Is there a way I can delete a rule?

How?

I go into Outlook2013 press application and enter on rules sub menus. I
cannot delete current rule or change it.

Any instructions how to change or delete a rule so appreciated.

Thanks,

Ann

hello; try the following;

1, from the inbox press the applications key, then press the letter's s/l 2,
now tab once past options button, you will be in a list box, jaws doesn't
seem to read the rules, so, hold ctrl-key, right or left arrow until you
find the rule which you wish to delete, now shift+tab enter on, delete
button.

hope this helps.

Hi Helga,

I don't run WLM, but here are a couple of notes I've saved just in case I
ever do regarding this topic:

From: David
Hello there;
If your wanting to send attachment using windows live mail,
You can do the following;

1, navigate to the folder where the file is located.
Highlight the file, do not enter,
Press the applications key,
Up or down arrow until you hear send to sub menu,
Right arrow or enter, to open this menu, now arrow up or down and enter on
mail recipient,
Now, you should land into the to edit field,
So, type your email address, and subject,
And send.
The second way is,
Open wlm,
New message,
Now to add attachment,
Alt+i=insert,
Now arrow down and enter on attachment.
Now, you'll need to navigate to the location of the file.
If you would rather not navigate,
You could,
Navigate to the folder where the file is located,
Highlight the file,
Copy to clipboard,
Go to wlm,
New message,
Alt+i=insert,
Now press i+a=insert attachment,
Now you can paste,
And send.
David

Take care.
Mike

[JAWS-Users] Outlook 2013 or 2016

2016-01-04 Thread Fred Adams
Is it possible to purchase outlook 2013 or outlook 2016 separate from Microsoft
Office? I have no other interest in the Microsoft Office sweet. I purchased a
new computer and it did not have microsoft office in it so I am thinking of
purchasing outlook for email. I had outlook 2010 in my old computer and I
suspect 2013 would be more like 2010. Thanks for any info.

Hi Kimsong,
And Merry Christmas to all.
The selective contact list is made up from recipions that you wrote to,
replied to, while the main contact list are recipiond you manually saved or
added.
To activate a contact is 07, 10 and 13,
You must send them a new email.
.
Try sending your entire main contacts a new test mail and see, if the
problem continues.

Hello:

I have two email accounts set up in 2013.

One is for my job and the other is my personal account.

There are two inboxes, contacts, etc, but that's not the problem. The thing
I would like to know is in the autocomplete, when typing in the two field,
why does it always suggest folks from my work email, and not my personal
contacts?

Clarification/guidance/resolutions will be a great Christmas present.

Thank you.

Ok, I understand all that; however, my work apparently has hundreds of
people for example, I can type in ja for jaws-users list email address but
everyone on my work addressbook that begins with ja will show up and the
jaws list will not even show up.
Also, as far as replying to people, 99% of these addresses that come up, I
have never even emailed them but they show up anyways.

What outlook does, is remember the ones you have emailed the most. So if
you want the ones from your work email to populate, you will have to email
them. To choose a contact manually, compose a new message, then hit control
plus k to go into your address book. you will have to manually switch to the
one you want, but this should get you started.

2. You're all misunderstood my question. I mean a people send me an e-mail

that I've read their message by sending a read receipt.

This is what you have to do to change the account name in the navigation
pane.

If you are using a POP3 account or personal folders (*.pst), you can change
the name that displays in the folder list and navigation pane using this
method:
1.Right-click on the data file name you want to change and choose Data File
Properties (Properties in older versions of Outlook).
2.Click the Advanced button on the Properties dialog 3.Change the names in

This is what you have to do to change the account name in the navigation

If you are using a POP3 account or personal folders (*.pst), you can change
the name that displays in the folder list and navigation pane using this
method:
1.Right-click on the data file name you want to change and choose Data File
Properties (Properties in older versions of Outlook).

Thank you for this.
That was a helpful article; however, under the general tab, I was unable to
remove that name which was my work email and replace it with the word "work"
but the bright side is I no longer have 2 k's.
Backspacing, selecting all and pressing delete did nothing.
Thanks again!

Kimsan,

I have a similar arrangement within Outlook on my laptop. What I do is move
to the top of the folders list then press the first key of the account I
want to access. For example, if you have two accounts one called Kimsan and
the other called Workmail, pressing W will take you to that account then you
can arrow down once to get to the workmail inbox. It will still be called
inbox when you get there, but at least you're certain of which account
you're accessing.

It's not a perfect solution, but it works for me.

Re: [JAWS-Users] outlook 2013 navigating between email accounts

2015-10-06 Thread Kimsan
Yep, pressing K twice is not favorable for me lol.

I just changed my work email to work but it still begins with "k" and this
is even after restarting outlook.
Not a hill I choose to die on but if I figure something, I'll just make the
change.

Well, the other way to handle it would be to simply press K twice to reach
the second K account. Yeah, it's an extra keystroke but it will get you to
the right spot without arrowing through all your folders.

Re: [JAWS-Users] outlook 2013 navigating between email accounts

2015-10-06 Thread Kimber Gardner
Kimsan,

I have a similar arrangement within Outlook on my laptop. What I do is
move to the top of the folders list then press the first key of the
account I want to access. For example, if you have two accounts one
called Kimsan and the other called Workmail, pressing W will take you
to that account then you can arrow down once to get to the workmail
inbox. It will still be called inbox when you get there, but at least
you're certain of which account you're accessing.

It's not a perfect solution, but it works for me.

[JAWS-Users] outlook 2013 navigating between email accounts

2015-10-06 Thread Kimsan
This is driving me nuts and that's not good, because I only had one cup of
coffee.

I have 3 inboxes in my email program, one is pop, one is imap and the other
is exchange.

I couldn't figure out how to get all the emails going into one inbox;
however, I'm sure there is a resolution but the clock ticks and I must do
other things.

To cut to the chase is there a keytip/keystroke in outlook that I can use to
switch between these accounts to check email, or am I forced to use CTRL why
and press "I" for inbox hoping it's the one I'm looking for.

Thank you.

Hi

I can't speak for Outlook 2013, but if you have a non-Gmail account, another
way to receive messages you send to an email list using the Gmail account is
to set up your Gmail account to use the outgoing server from your non-Gmail
account. You'll have to specify the user name and password for the outgoing
non-Gmail account. I like this method better because with the recent-colon
method, you receive a copy of every email you send via the Gmail account.

The question has arisen about configuring a Gmail account to receive your
own messages posted to a mailing list. I was under the impression the fix is
still the same as it was for several years placing the word recent with a
Colon after that before the account name on the server tab.

I must admit that I don't have 2013 although with some stumbling around am
able to figure things out when needed. I tried the fix mentioned above but
the server would not accept the password for the account until I removed the
recent fix so to speak.

So what is needed is somebody with greater experience with outlook 2013 to
chime in and give me some much guidance.

It is annoying when something I know should work does not and screws up my
batting average for the lack of a better term.

have had to do that method for folks who use web mail that have com cast as

It does have auto-complete - it being Outlook 2013. My computer guy said
enter after each recipient. That could be where I have had more difficulty,
not being used to that.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2013 e-mail, putting addresses in the to field

2015-08-17 Thread LeDon
Here's what I do. In the, to, box, I start typing the name of the person I
am emailing. If that name doesn't come up after a few letters, then I use
the up and down arrows to look for it. If the person is in my contact list
or if I have ever sent an email to that person it should show up. When it
does press tap to go to the next field. If I can't find that person that
way, I know I have to put them in my contacts list. Then the next time I
want to send them an email, their name will come up.

When in the body of the message, at the beginning of the message shift and
tab twice you will hear attachments, use cursor keys to scroll right and
left to the required one and hit enter.

I have a friend that is needing help with Outlook 2013. He is using Jaws 15,
Outlook 2013 on a Windows 8.1 computer. He is needing to read attachments
and has gotten the message that he has to enable the reading view. Ok, how
do you do this?

Also, how do you add people to the addressbook? The older versions allowed
you to add senders to the addressbook. Naturally, it isn't happening now.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Hello David,

In my version of Outlook 2013 when I get into the "Select Members" dialog
box to add members, the list is not navigable with JAWS. The search has to
be used. In Outlook 2010 the list is navigable if I remember correctly but
it doesn't seem to be in Outlook 2013.

Take care.

Hello Bonnie,

Below are some instructions I wrote up for a client a while ago for working
with distribution lists in Outlook 2013. If you have any problem following
the steps feel free to contact me off list.

Take care.

Creating a group

1.Press CTRL with Shift key and L.

2. Type a name for the group.

3. Follow steps shown below (starting with step 3) for adding a
contact.

Adding a Contact from Contacts to a Group

1.Move to the group in your contacts list.

2. Press enter key. In the resulting window you will have an edit box
where you can change the group name if desired. If you tab once you will
find a list of names already in the group. You can use up or down arrow
keys in this list. Only the edit box and the list of existing names are in
the window. After you have added more than one member JAWS might not read
the list correctly as you use the up and down arrow keys. After using a
down arrow key to move to the next member, (if JAWS doesn't read the name),
use shift+tab to move away from the list and tab back to it. You can then
read the line and should hear the correct entry.

3. Press Alt key to access the top part of the ribbon.

4. Focus should be on the contact group tab. If focus lands on a
different tab then the contact group tab then use right or left arrow key
until you find the contact group tab.

5. Tab to the lower part of the ribbon.

6. Tab until you find the "add members" submenu and press spacebar.

7. You will have choices for adding from the Outlook address book,
contacts or adding a new member. Use tab key between the choices. Usually,
you will want to press spacebar on the contacts choice. The address book is
made up of the contacts list, suggested contacts and other lists that have
been added to Outlook. In most cases you will find the contacts choice and
press spacebar.

8. You will be presented with a search box. Type the person's name or
part of it into the edit field, tab to the go button and press spacebar.

9. In the list of results you can use up and down arrow keys to select
the member to be added.

a. Tab to the members button. Press spacebar to select the member.

b. Use shift with tab to return to the list of names. If you have a
few members (with the same first or last name you can hold shift key down
and use down arrow key to select them and then tab to and use spacebar on
the Members button.

10. Tab to the OK button and press spacebar.

11. Focus should return to the window where you can rename the group of
view a list of existing members in the group. JAWS doesn't seem to read the
list as you use your down arrow key but you can confirm the members have
been added by routing JAWS cursor to PC cursor and reading the list. Also,
if you use down arrow key in the list, use a shift+tab to move away from the
list and then tab back to it and you should hear a new entry that wasn't
read just by using the down arrow key.

12. Use Alt with function key 4 and answer "yes" when asked if you want to
save changes.

Removing a member from the group

1.Open the group from contacts by navigating to the group name
listed in contacts and pressing enter key.

2. Focus will be in the window where you can change the group name or
tab to the list of existing members.

Tab to the list of existing members and press delete key on the name of the
contact to be removed.

[JAWS-Users] Outlook 2013

2014-01-23 Thread Paula Waby
Hi all
I sent a message last week but never saw it come through. Anyway I just got a
Windows 8.1 machine with Office 2013 and I have Jaws 15. I like to have my
email set to open the next message when I delete the previous one. Visually it
opens but Jaws stays silent. If I alt tab once it goes to inbox and if I alt
tab a second time it gets to the message that opened originally but would not
read. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening. I am currently
closing the message, deleting it if I don't want it any more then opening the
next one. I'd like to go back to control d for delete and having the next one
open automatically if only it would read without first having to alt tab twice
to get the focus back.
Cheers
Paula.

I need/want to be able to synch w/ICloud and now office 2013, my success

what really is dependable at this point.
I have the 5S, JFW 15, a new windows 8, and the home/student office for

If not, try it. POP is definitely still supported in Outlook 2013. I have
several POP accounts, but none of them are Comcast.

I am wanting to set up my new windows 8 and outlook 2013 with my Comcast
email accounts. But it appears pop 3 email is not supported in MS outlook
any longer?

Any suggestions how to get around this? I found some info on a google
search, but thought I'd ask here.

I've been using it for about a month and its great.
Looks like they tweeked Outlook a bit, at least it seems different to me
then when I set it up in 2010.
Also, I don't know if its just because I hadn't used it in a while but Word
seems greatly improved, specially the ribbons, though whether that's a JFW
or Microsoft thing I'm not sure.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2013 was: RE: Outlook 2010 delete announcement

2013-07-15 Thread Brian Lee
Hello Oyvind,

For the most part, Outlook 2013 is working fine for me. Contacts did not
work very well with default view and settings. Even with advance verbosity
being used, every time I used down or up arrow key in the list of contacts
JAWS would give the help message telling me to move to the next or previous
item by using arrow keys. Unchecking the various help type messages in the
verbosity settings didn't have any effect. I switched to the List view and
things started working better. In the default view, filling in contact
information was difficult but after switching to the List view all the
controls were properly announced when tabbing to them. Using Alt with
numbers to hear the various header fields spoken while in the body of an
Email message and pressing a number twice with Alt held down will move focus
to other fields, but once focus moves out of the message body you can't use
Alt with the numbers to move to other fields. You can use Alt with the
grave accent key to move back into the body.

Otherwise, Outlook 2013 is working okay for me.

Take care.

How is Outlook 2013 working out for you?

I assume you are running latest JAWS 14.

I'm running latest JAWS 14 and Outlook 2010 but I have Outlook 2013 ready to

I can of course just go ahead and install Outlook 2013 and then rollback to
Outlook 2010 if needed.
But I would like to hear your insight about this matter.

Thanks

Hello Miriam,

Use Alt+F to bring up the File menu, use Alt+T to bring up the options,
press A to move to the Advance tab and tab across the controls in that page
of the dialog. There should be a checkbox for prompting when permanently
deleting items. Use spacebar to check it if it is not checked. Tab to OK
and use spacebar. I am using outlook 2013 but I am quite sure the checkbox
is in the Advance page of options in Outlook 2010.

Take care.

Take care.

I accidentally turned off the announcement that a message is eing deleted in
Outlook 2010 and the question asking if you want to permanently delete the
message. Can you please tell me how to turn it on? This had to do with a
windows error. I have Jaws 14 on a Win7 computer.

Miriam
