Tracking cookies
Hello, I use SeaMonkey every day, and I send thanks to the people who develop it. Whenever my pc starts having slow to very slow responses, I run Superantispyware, and it usually finds tracking cookies. After these are removed, it runs more like it should. So I'm writing to ask if code could be added to the program to prevent the tracking cookies from being added. While they might be regularly updated, it seems like there should be some commonality that could be detected and prevented. Thank you. I know that I can not certainly swear to things I did over two years ago. I got interested in my Family history, After I lost my hand. on April 1, 1998 . And I created a cd that I gave to all my relatives ( starting around 2001) with the info I discovered . and a lot of that info came from the Blm site I only started having problems when I installed seamonkey 2.0 , It looks suspicious to you, But I have never installed Firefox or thunderbird on any of the computers Here . But that is Beside the point Because when win 7 was released ( I bought it From microsoft ) I bought a new Sata Drive . installed win7 pro and then Seamonkey 1.1.18 Then I saw that 2.0 was on the seamonkey site as the Current release .. Uninstalled 1.1.18 and installed 2.0 . Had too many problems access e-mail and certain sites, So I uninstalled 2.0 and reinstalled 1.1.18 and Now u say I spoofed it ... Anyhow, if you reset the pref in about:config as I described elsewhere, you will find that reverting to 1.1.18 is not an answer to these kind of problems. Right now I donot think I should mess with something that is access all the websites . I know u are trying to figure out WHY . and I hope your Conversations May help the develpers figure this out in the Future . Thanks for the help Lee .I may answer some more of you inquiries later. Lee Now that screen shots is abandoned where do I send screenshot. send me your email address and I'll show where its not needed Phillip, you have a web site. Why not upload your screenshot to that space, and then link to it? Lee Okay: http://www.phillipmjones.net/NoTabs.png BTW: I've converted most of my html pages to XHTML (XML) 1.0.i Transitional and as far as I can tell those that have been converted do not have any errors. checked through DreamWeaver 8 (yes can't afford the price of update to CS 4, for now) and I've used the code error check built into iCab I am not say everything is perfect but I am working on it. What is this screenshot supposed to show? I see a Mail/News window with no tabs open. How does it relate to the problem of not wanting tabs in Mail/News? Lee I see a Tab Bar above the message , So why is Tabs available in MAIL ? and for What Reason. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Jim wrote: I'm extremely disappointed in Seamonkey 2.0. The mail program bugs are too severe to warrant continued use. I've come to expect better from Mozilla releases. I didn't use Firefox or Thunderbird because I didn't like the feel and they weren't integrated as a suite. Now Seamonkey has lost it's original feel. Things that I liked about Seamonkey are gone (quick launch, quick mail filter 'clear' button). I've reported two or three of the glaring problems (folder listings disappearing, compact related issues). Until the major bugs are fixed, I'll stick with version 1.18. SeaMonkey 1.1.18 closes several security vulnerabilities and fixes a few smaller problems found in previous versions. With that, SeaMonkey stays at the same level of security as its sibling Thunderbird 2, which has been issuing updates for the same problems recently as well. The SeaMonkey team urges users of older SeaMonkey versions, including the SeaMonkey 1.0.x series, which no longer receives security updates, to upgrade. Additionally, the team continues to strongly urge people still using the old Mozilla Suite or Netscape 4, 6 or 7 to upgrade to the new SeaMonkey 1.1.18 version. All these older software packages suffer from a large and steadily increasing number of security vulnerabilities because they are no longer being maintained. SeaMonkey 1.1.18 is a modern drop-in replacement, providing the same familiar suite functionality with additional features and fully up to date security. SeaMonkey 1.1.18 is available for free download from the open source project's website at www.seamonkey-project.org. You just responded to my post about 1.1.18 having problems. Because the View menu has disappeared from my screen (as well as File, Edit, and Help), I am not able to see my post and your response. Also, I cannot click on anything in the browser as nothing happens. Can't get to any sites. I did and have been deleting the old SeaMonkey before installing a new one. By the way, I had this problem in previous releases but somehow it went away. This time, I am almost out of business. I have tried going back to 1.1.16 and 1.1.17, and reinstalling 1.1.18. Any help is very appreciated. Stan Is the entire menu bar missing? Or just parts of it? If the entire menu bar is missing: 1. You might be in Full Screen mode. Try using F11 to exit that mode. F11 is a toggle for both entering and exiting that mode; you might have accidentally hit F11 while reaching for the Backspace key. 2. You might have accidentally clicked on the nubby area (name unknown to me) at the far left of the menu bar. If you see a small area beginning with a right-pointing triangle, click on it once. This too is a toggle. There is a toggle of this type for each bar at the top of the window. Because of anomalous motion of my cursor -- resulting from my use of a laser mouse -- I occasionally click on one of those toggles when I meant to click elsewhere in the window.
