Has anybody ever tried to put a Rich Text component such as FCKEditor

I guess it should be possible; would be cool to finally be able to make

Hi for all...
I'm having a problem with arapi70.jar (or arapiXX.jar)
When I try to run my Java Application that need this API, always occurs an

No!
These files will be found in the arserver directory (bin) and not the lib
directory. You may set your LD_LIBRARY_PATH to point to them.
A .a is a library file to be included in a link. A .so is a shared library
which is loaded dynamically (or at run time bind). These are very

Hi all,
Thanks for the information.
I ask this because our support refuse future support if we change this

Thank you!
But I have one more question...
Nowadays we are migrating the ARS from 5.1 version to 7.0.1, and we have the
next configuration:
Nowadays (in my AR Server 5.1) we have these files .so: (lib directory)
- libar.so
- libarjni51.so
- libarjni.so_pre_1493
- libarutiljni51.so
-
1) Rather than copying files around, use the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment
variable. LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/x/x/bin:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH etc.
2) ARS dropped the convention of having the file name include the ARS version
(real bad idea). It is critical that you use the correct version files else
you
I tried and tried to install the patch and was never successful - it
would download the files but would never patch the server. I am running
3 separate boxes - AR, Web, DB and they are linux boxes with Oracle
running on them.

Thanks for the suggestion, Fred, but it is only putting a 11-char value into a

I found that if I did an unqualified search on the Read Value for Field From:

Hello everyone,
I have a CMDB 1.0 installation unpatched.
What is the next patch in CMDB 1.1 which only (when applied) involves changing
binaries rather than having to modify anything in the CMDB schema or the meta
data?
Anyone has done this before?
I am looking after this system
Did the same, sales representative contacted me...oi

Yes, running 7.01 and patch 5 on solaris. Since it fixed a couple of

Hi Dan,
is it Remedy XML or just some kind of XML message?
You can submit emails into remedy in an XML'ish format; but there are
no methods to translate XML in a certain format into a format Remedy
will understand, you cannot use XSLT or so on incoming emails.
What you can do is * send messages

I would vote for the Create and expose a web-service to handle this.
That is making use of the system correctly.

Let me know how that goes. I am still on 7.0.1 patch 1 due to

Is anyone using SLM with ITSM 7?

I created the Service Target, yet it just sits there in Build In

Listers,
We have strange problem in out development environment. We did a refresh of
test environment to our dev environment (database refresh) and since then
remedy admin has became inaccessible. It keeps on trying but doesn't get
connected. Then it hangs up and we have to kill the process :(
Hi Dave,
3 things come to mind :
a) Do you have the same problem with the user tool ?
b)Were the dev environment services stopped before
making a database refresh?
c) Is the ARAdmin user on MS SQL Server or the
database server you are using is the DBO (database
owner) of the ARSystem database
Hi All,
I am using ARS version 6.3 and am trying to perform a REPLACE() function using
a filter.
I have a few special characters that I can see using a hex editor and the
editor gives me the hex equivalent. My question is how do I perform a replace
on a special character?
Thanks,
Jackson
Jackson,
You can use your RDBMS to return special characters. You just need to
find out the numeric value of them. For example, to get the Tab
character, Set Fields SQL: SELECT CHAR(9) Once you have the value in
a character field you can use that for your replacing.

Michiel, thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately it is just regular XML
coming from another network that cannot use the API or web services. It has to
come into our network as an encrypted email and then we need to figure out a
way to parse it to get Remedy to map the fields to create a

Of course reading through the KB, I think one problem I might be having

Yeah. Dump them all. The first entry may have caused the SLM BRIE
service to die, so you might have to restart ARS (armonitor keeps watch
over this service...but if it restarts too many times in too short of
time, it'll stop trying to restart it).
