No! These files will be found in the arserver directory (bin) and not the lib directory. You may set your LD_LIBRARY_PATH to point to them. A .a is a library file to be included in a link. A .so is a shared library which is loaded dynamically (or at run time bind). These are very

1) Rather than copying files around, use the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable. LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/x/x/bin:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH etc. 2) ARS dropped the convention of having the file name include the ARS version (real bad idea). It is critical that you use the correct version files else you

Listers, We have strange problem in out development environment. We did a refresh of test environment to our dev environment (database refresh) and since then remedy admin has became inaccessible. It keeps on trying but doesn't get connected. Then it hangs up and we have to kill the process :(

Jackson, You can use your RDBMS to return special characters. You just need to find out the numeric value of them. For example, to get the Tab character, Set Fields SQL: SELECT CHAR(9) Once you have the value in a character field you can use that for your replacing. HTH Stephen
