Have you thought about using a marquee on the Home page and/or Consoles? From an admin screen, you could input a message designated for a particular group/person and the resulting message would scroll across their screen in a View field. It's another way to manage targeted messaging! Nathan

Well, what you could do is just append a string to the GUID, using a Set Fields command. Remedy probably does not support longer prefixes because the idea is that a GUID is... well, unique. Now if your prefix would be four characters and the string would still be 30 characters in total, there

Actually, I can confirm this problem using ARSperl 1.91 and the 7.1 API. When use the 'head' version of ARSperl this does not occur - this is because Thilo Stapff has checked in some additions to ARSperl that did not make it to the 1.91 release. I will ask Thilo if he can create a 1.92 release.

No you cannot use more than two characters, and as Michiel pointed out, if thats your absolute need for reasons best known to you, for the unique nature of requirement that you have, then prefix it with whatever you want with an additional set fields action after the GUID has been generated.

Could that user be logging-in to the server via IP number rather than server name? The flashboard authentication uses the user and server info from the client login. I have seen this error when user was logging-in via IP number when the FB/Midtier only knew about server names. Regards, Chuck

Do not underestimate the power of a restart. :-) We had a similar issue, but it only affected people with a blank password in their User record. If I remember right, the Application or Midtier password was wrong but did not automatically fix the issue when we changed it. We had to restart
