Keep reading the manual and you will find out how to set fields on a form in Submit mode using a URL. Then, add a temp field to the form you are trying to Submit to and have an active link fire to Commit the record when the temp field contains a certain value (passed in using the Submit URL).

To the best of my knowledge, all that the installer does when you choose that check box, for Unicode, is set the flag in the ar.conf (ar.cfg in case of windows) file that the character set is UTF-8. This tells the arserverd process that the database it is trying to connect to is a Unicode

Mark, If you have table drill down enabled it automatically opens in the default view. Your button has an AL on it that specifies what view to open the form in. All you need to do is disable the table drill down, then have the AL that fires on button press happen on dbl click of the table

Mark, I suspect it fires that active link every time it opens that window, and runs into an endless loop.. To close the loop I would add $CLIENT-TYPE$ = 9 AND $VUI$ != “WebView” This will mean that when the WebView really opens that AL will test false and not execute its If Action... Hope

It just may be possible that when a notification is created, that process runs a search over some form that is timed out?? I would take a workflow log and a SQL log when reproducing the condition that leads to this time out which may give you a clue to what search operation times out. Joe
