stopped at the Geneva waterfront to check for gulls and ducks.
In the flock of ~1000 gulls on the shore, we picked out at least four
Iceland, two Glaucous, and a Lesser Black-backed. This spot has often been
good for white-winged gulls, and it seems this year is no exception.

JAEGER that has been seen on the lake lately, cruising in from far to the
north, passing by the spit, landing to the south, then continuing just now

Six AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS found by Marshall Iliff in grass field at
south end of Game Farm Road on west side. Whole flock just took off (9:05)
with Killdeer and headed east over pheasant pens.

The six plovers have returned to the same field. In yellowish dry grass,
north of power lines at south end of Game Farm Rd.

Finally, Tim Lenz found four BLACK TERNS flying around the south end of
Cayuga Lake yesterday afternoon, and it sounds like at least two
SANDERLINGS were present on the spit at Myers Point yesterday as well.

A juvenile BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON is sitting on a log on the back side
of the swan pen at Stewart Park right now. Hogs Hole earlier this morning
was pretty quiet. Highlights were a Willow Flycatcher, Purple Martins and
the continuing flock of Caspian Terns on the jetty. Yesterday a basic-type

In addition to the usual breeding warblers and other forest birds,
exploring around Summerhill so far this morning has turned up a continuing
CLAY-COLORED SPARROW singing from the middle of the Christmas tree farm on
Lick Street just north of 90 (audible but mostly not visible from the
road), and
didn't get a great look at the juveniles but they looked pretty
old, flying around competently and only downy around the fringes.
