Does any one have suggestions as to how to keep lettuce fresh for a few

bag with the lettuce to absorb moisture, but I still have moisture, and part

I think your problem is with the plastic bag. Just wrap in paper towel

Hi, Sandy,
Paper towel helps, but you have to wrap the lettuce in it and check for
moisture each day. Another suggestion is to get some Green Bags; I think they
are available in grocery stores and in Wallmart. They help to keep produce
fresh for a long time.

Alice, my salad spinner has a crank. These green bags; are they found near
where the produce is sold, and then do you just put the unwashed lettuce or
other stuff in them, or do you have to do anything special? I really need to

Okay! The thing is that I have one of the frost-free fridges, and it would
be difficult to keep the paper towels sealed around the head of lettuce.

Hi, Sandy,
I'm not sure where the Green Bags are located in the store. They are good for
all kinds of fresh produce. Put it in the bags dry and it will keep for quite
a while.
Sorry I don't have more information.

Actually, I wrap a head of letece in paper towels and then slip it into a
plastic grocery bag. This seems to work pretty well for me, but, of course,
there is always the question of whether there are dark spots later. I don't
care as long as it feels fine, but it becomes an issue if I want to
Hi all,
For no apparent reason, I've been wanting a lemon cupcake or cake
recently. Two questions:
1. Can anyone provide a good recipe for this that is *not* from a box?
2. What sort of icing/frosting/glaze/whatever would you recommend for
this flavor? Plain? Vanilla? Orange? something else
Could you make sure to send both for cupcake and regular cake?

I usually take the core out of the lettuce. I use the green bags since they
have some charcoal a light coat in the bag and that is why vegetables will

After several uses I find the bag no longer is good to store

Then I just wash the leaves as needed. With the core gone the lettuce
Hi,
Do any of you have the Keurig Mini coffee maker? If so, what sort of luck
have you had with it and where did you purchase it? If this isn't the model

Thanks.

My suggestion would be, if you want a single serving coffee maker, to get
one that does not use k-cups or pods. Black and Decker makes them and so
does Hamilton Beach. Yes, you have to measure the coffee, but you don't have
to worry about programming because they all have buttons and are not

I have one of those bacon racks, and as much as I like it, they are hard to
clean and the grease eventually builds up. They do work well, though, so
something like that might be worth a try. Another thing to bear in mind in
terms of timing is the thickness of the bacon. On the packaging for the

Using a 900 watt microwave, 1 minute per slice works if you put 3 or 4 paper
towels on a plate, then the bacon, then a couple of paper towels over the
bacon. HTH.
