Well, I managed to break a lot of things in 8.04, so I backed up my data and
installed 9.04.
The Atheros wireless drivers worked like a charm, a couple of the new themes
are really nice, and after installing the compiz-fusion manager and the
simple manager I tried enabling the cube. No luck. I
I was surprised to find my wireless not working after I woke my laptop from
hibernate.
A notice came up on the screen asking for my password immediately after the
login, and I gave it without reading it.
That notice must have said something pretty ambiguous like network requests

Under Hardy Heron 8.04, I had the same problem with Ekiga. It would never
let me log in either. My only suggestion is to repartition your hard drive
so that home is on a separate partition, and just go ahead and upgrade to
9.04. Ekiga works fine in 9.04, for me at least.

Has anyone played with Ksplice? It apparently allows Linux users to avoid
