withhold taskbar display of the CMD window from which urxvtermX.bat is
run.
The bad news is that I have to execute the target
'C:\win64app\cygwin\bin\run.exe C:\win64app\cygwin\
al?
Just chmod +x should be sufficient.
I've probably done something wrong, although I have re-tested this
run.exe and it seems to work for me.
Perhaps you could try 'strace ./run XWin', that might shed some light on
what's going wrong?

I am (again) experiencing some issues when running Cygwin/X in
combination with XDMCP. Opening a cygwin prompt and running 'startxwin'
works as expected. But when I try to connect to my remote Linux system
with the command 'xwin -query 192.168.0.21' (or with the
XWin.
This gets you the greeter login screen. Unfortunately there seem to be
other bugs, which prevent login from working. These also occur when
starting an XDMCP session from linux, so I don't think these are XWin
issues.

expected. Just one last question: are there any known issues with XDMCP
and Gnome GDM ? Or is that combination supposed to just work ?

Follow up:
It is only emacs for X-windows that fails silently.
emacs-nox works perfectly.
As I said, the silent failure has no core dump and no log messages
anywhere. Nothing is displayed in the shell window.

VirtualBox virtual machines (don't ask)
setup.exe version 2.8.50 (32 bit)
tried both emacs 24.3.93-1 and 24.3-2

I know for a fact that when I ssh from my Ubuntu partition to the
remote machine the application works without crashing. However, when I
use windows 8 and Cygwin X the crash occurs for the same application.
I will install the debugging tools and report my findings to you.

I am attempting to run an opengl application remptely to a ubuntu
linux machine from my windows 8 machine.
To do so I start the cygwin console, call startxwin.
Running glxinfo | grep OpenGL returns the vendor of my graphics card, NVIDIA.

glxSwapBuffers does not block when used with indirect rendering, which means
that lots of frames can be rendered almost instantly, with no apparent

very slow and no longer refresh steadily. Network throughput registers a drop to
1-80KB/s. Despite that -- xwin pegs a cpu @100% and stays that way
until I exit glxgears.
