Lyrics is a mess. I investigated a bit around the issue when I did the
Lyrics screen saver for iPeng for iPad and I believe the only way to do
it is to have a full licensing scheme in place which also monitors from
where the Lyrics are being requested.
The problem is that there are few sites who

Yes its based on the same idea.
Capture volume events directly on the server, send it to receiver by
whatever means are needed.
I don't know whether the Denon plugin is compatible with SqueezePad -

You are the first to report something like that and SqueezePad is
working fine over here, so I guess it's just something simple.
If it's just not visible in SqueezePad then maybe it just switched over
to MySB.com and you should just switch it b
SqueezePad stopped working with the latest SqueezeBox Touch software
update. Logitech's iPad app still works though.

When SP lost connection, it keeps playing the current song and then
stay still and freezes the transport keys. After a while nothing seems
to work anymore.

Did a test today.
At 7:00 battery was at 100%. Then stopped all Apps via the task-bar but
SqueezePad which remained in the foreground. Put the iPad to sleep via
the power button.
Checked at several times on the day and then always put the iPad back
to sleep.
Battery is still at 100% now (13 hours
I'm not aware of a test about battery drain (other than loading to 100%,
then rebooting, starting a single App and waiting 24hours)
Personally I think the biggest change on your iPad is iOS, not
SqueezePad. So when looking for someone to blame Apple would be #1 for
not being backwards compatible?

are API changes that break things that still work with 4.x Apps running

The golden master of iOS5 is available only since yesterday.
As one has to download >1GB (new development environment, the iOS5
images) with very slow download rates and I only got as far as
installing iOS
