I looked into this when I first bought my Squeezebox 2 in the summer.
The word I got was that there was no way to tag songs with the remote
(or any other way for that matter). Can anyone elaborate on Zapping?

That's very strange. I've never heard of anyone having a problem like
this. By default, Random Mix will select ten songs from your library
(as filtered by the genre filter) and either add them to the end of
your playlist, or replace your playlist with them, depending on whether
you selected Add

You don't say what format your music in (I'm guessing MP3), but
generally speaking there are tools out there for doing this. My main
music library is all in FLAC, so I used Pat Farrell's perl script
flac2mp3 (do a search). It requires that you install Perl, but it
wasn't that hard.

After upgrading my server to 6.2.1 (from 5.4.1) I started getting
internet radio stream failures constantly. A stream will play for a few
seconds then die.
I do not know what debug flags to turn on to diagnose this but I
guessed at a few and got some info that connections are getting

This type of feature is listed as one of their top priorites. With WMA
being decoded directly by SqueezeBox 2, the only obstacle left is a

When I disable the iTunes plugin it works perfectly. but, it no longer
uses iTunes which I want it to use. When I tell it to rescan it reverts

so there will be no appreciable sound quality decrease

There are no FLAC streams that I know of. FLACs are
in the 1 Mbps range. This would be considered
extremely wasteful for streaming audio. Most

If I pause and unpause within a few seconds, everything is fine.
However, if I pause then unpause 20 or more seconds later, the music
will resume, play to the end of the track, and not play further tracks
on the playlist.

The limitation isn't with the player either.
Besides, do some listening tests. Most say that you
can't tell the difference between a 192 kbps
LAME-encoded MP3 and FLAC, let alone 320 kbps.

I have spent over $5000 on my headphone setup, and for me every bit
counts! I switched from a flashed AV-710 sound card outputting digital
to the Squeezebox to hopefully give me a difference in audio quality.

i think this isn't working for me. I get the song i select to play, but
erros on the rest of the songs in the folder. If I start with song 3,
after it finishes I can play 1-3 but not 4-8. I have to do a full
rescan to fix the now-borked folder.
