Oh no.. I am seeing similiar problems accross a wide range of platforms
with 6.2.1 code base. Seems that after playing continuously for a
number of hours or days, the timers get screwed up and SQB fails to
recognize that the song has ended. It will stay in the play state for
many, many hours

I have a bunch of network devices in my home; a rough count of 20 or so
network devices exist.
Recently, I replaced my networking switch. So this meant shutting down
the old switch, installing the new switch, configuring, and connecting
the cables.
Later, I updated the switch software,

of the streams. Refreshing the database seems to sometimes reset
these to the names in the playlist file, but not always. However, one
a stream is played again the name once again reverts to the name of the

Since the Squeezebox isn't getting a valid DHCP address from the
router, it sounds like you have a problem with cabling. I'd check that
first. I know you said the older one worked fine but assuming your
router acts as a DHCP server,

It sounds like the SB3 is being more picky about the quality of the
connection. There has been some discussion to this affect on the forums
over the last couple of weeks or so. It probably isn't aut-negotiating down
to 10mbps for a more stable connection (the old SB1 had only a 10base-t
card).

Well I have found out that if the CDs were ripped in iTunes (something I
no longer do) the compilation albums with more than one disc get a
discnumber tag set. They also get an itunescompilation tag set.
If I remove the discnumber tag then the tracks are numbered correctly.

Depending on what you mean by 'cross wired' that may be your problem.
Ethernet cables, especially at 100Mbps, need to be crossed, or, rather,
paired. What you'll see at the end of an ethernet cable is like

I think it's http://server:9000/stream.mp3?bitrate=64 or something.
