It's been a while, just thought I'd report back..
Seems that the problem with Firefox on my set up was Flashblock - much
quicker once localhost and 127.0.0.1 are added to Flashblock's white
list. Still a bit slower than 6.5.5, but that's to be expected.

It's also on page 20 of the manual. It doesn't explicitly say that the
cable must be connected to see the option, but if you follow the steps
in the instructions exactly it will work :)

download SC 7.0 back in December and have never looked back. Sure, it
takes a clean install and requires you to update ALL of your plug-ins,

to standby as long a SB3 is connected to SC.

SlimServer install to go with it.
Since the install, however, I've noticed that the mini's fan runs quite

However: What about when I want to watch a video on my iMac (OS 10.5)
and like to have the sound from my stereo. Does that work with the

With Airport Express and Airtunes that is all no problem.
So most flexible would probably to have a mode where the SqueezeBox is
controlled by the computer like an Airport Express.
So just a software tool which re-directs Airtunes-Data-Stream to the
SqueezeBox.

I've had this problem before. I downloaded the newest version of 7.0 and
it will not scan my Music Library. 6.5.5 has no problem doing it. I run
Mac OS 10.4 .11. cleaned the caches. ran verify permissions. No luck. I
had posted this before but did not get any replies. Any ideas?

Yes it's possible. Airport Express doesn't come CLOSE to what you'll
hear out of a Slim device, especially if you take the digital output in
an external DAC.
Once the server is running and streaming to the Squeezebox, you access
the SB3 via a web-browser on your make and change tunes, create
you can control the Squeezebox with any web enabled device on your
network. Squeezecenter has a very nice web interface (or a collection
of interfaces to choose from). I like the new default skin on version
7.0, but you can download 3rd party plug-ins like slimfx as well. Give
