There are solutions which are as simple as uploading a file using a web
interface. If this is too geeky, then don't get involved in digital music.

Correct, gapless is not currently supported when synced. Alan has some

Try defaulting its settings. I can't remember the sequence, I think it
is hold 1 whilst plugging in power, but a search of the forums or Wiki
will reveal it.
And to be really daft check that the power outlet hasn't been switched
off it it has a switch :)

I've just gone to use my Squeezebox 3 and it won't turn on. It
normally sits there quite happy connected to SlimServer when my PC was

Those are decoupling caps for the main 5V power supply. It is hard to
guess exactly what happens without them - that's the sort of thing that
has to be tested with lab equipment. It's possible it might work fine
without them, because we went a little overkill with them and there a
few other ones
