Hi. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Here's what I get when first powering up for Alignment and Test III: Current drawn is .26 a bit high? Adjusting L1 and L2 for 40M and max is only 0.3 watts When pressing Tune an initial Hi current reading shows momentarily In Troubleshooting:

Man, I'm having a devil of a time mounting Q7 and Q8 on the sink. The screws seem too short...I only get a mm or less clearance to place a lock washer and nut. Did anyone else have this problem? I am aware of the need for the shoulder of the washer to be within the transistor's hole.

[Elecraft] XFIL freq shift

I have been thoroughly enjoying listening to 40M after Alignment PartII. I do notice that there is a frequency shift of about 700 Hz or so when switching from XFIL 2.20 to XFIL 2.0. Shifting to the next two XFIL, the audio is same as 2.20. So the only XFIL shift in audio is on XFIL 2,0.

Ron, I found a similar technique that improves the ease of stripping. I start the blob of solder on the very end of the wire, so it heats the copper directly, then I drag the blob toward the toroid...seems to work for me. When soldering the toroid in, I also heat the pad a little longer
