Couple questions:
1) What radio, K3 or K3S, or K2/100?
2) which antenna, 1 or 2?
3) You said you turned the “temps down to a more reasonable 23C…” I don’t
recall a temp setting, only a REF to current room temperature calibration step.
4) What is the voltage shown on the front panel display?

From my own experience, KY commands work but are clumsy, and there is a l limit
to how many characters can be sent with one command, The simple switching
circuit is quite easy to do and works extremely well,
All it takes is a 2N transistor with base connected to the proper pin (4 or
7)
You can build a pair of simple transistor witches into a DE-9 shell and add
cables for TX, RX, DTR, and RTS with the proper plugs and it will “look” like a

There was a recent post on a reflector (don’t know which one) that listed n1mm
function key macros for sending FSK using KY commands I think. It didn’t seem
to require any interface other than usual serial cable. I am interested in
this information.
If this will work with DX Labs as well,

not solve the underlying poor connection. As Don said, they should be
correctly assembled first. If you still have problems, then immobilizing
the connector may be appropriate.

Just plug it in the MIC PHONES jacks on rear panel. No adapters needed.

First, chk antenna system. Shouldn't be that different.
Also, what does KAT500 Utility say about the tune results?

I'm getting about 250 watts with ~7.5 watts drive. Works great. However it
takes more than 10 watts to get good tune action on the KAT500.

Just finished my KPA500 last night. Plugged it in and it lit up. Hooray!
Went to bed happy. Today I pressed the button to get out of standby and
lo and behold, I got a FAULT and the error displayed 270V ERR. Took side
panel off and checked cables, tap and anything I could see, all ok.
I found several Dell refurbished D620's a while back at the local GOODWILL
store. New bat, and warranty on HD and computer. About $225.
Love mine. Added memory after warranty ran out and also upgraded to larger
solid state HD. Used for many club outings, FDs and personal activities.

terminator on analyzer, should be flat VSWR over wide band. When at other end
of coax should be same.

More info please.

Yes! But I'm not sure what your DSP DIGITAL DATE is referring to. I have used
my K3 AND KX3 with n1mm for RTTY and PSK31. These are using the computer sound
card. I built an interface for my KX3 to include xforner isolation for both
audio lines and transistor switching for PTT and CW KEYING.
