additional xtal filter. If SSB sounds like SSB received on AM, my guess would
be that the BFO (RF board) is not oscillating. Maybe pulling the crystal to far

I went to use it and I have no transmit audio.
I have the MH 2 Microphone.
Is there a way to test it?
It keys the radio but no audio.
I know that this i an electret mic but not sure how to test with VOM

Does this K2 produce power in CW mode? I cannot tell from your post
whether you have an SSB audio problem or whether you have an RF transmit
problem - more information is required.

My K2 has a 160m option as well as the SSB Option. On all bands, 80 - 10m I
get good SSB transmission. Using a dummy load and watt meter I can see the
SSB transmission is stable and varies between dips of 4-5 watts up to peaks
of 13 watts (I'm not using the 100W PA).

description. The K2 does have the greatest TX gain on 40 or 30 meters,
but it should not drop off so fast on the higher bands.

Ser# 5957: DSP works fine on CW; use it all the time. On SSB, more iffy.
Signals sound very watery, to the point of being hard to copy, even

I had this problem. The cause was in the KPA100 T-R switch. Don W3FPR came up
with the solution. He increased C31 to 0.2 uf.

in the pass band. My KSB2 is an earlier model and has been modified to
2.4khz based on a kit supplied from Elecraft. Under the spectrogram, I
notice that the latest configuration gives a fairy flat response across

I was on 40 meters ssb last night at 20 watts or so and found that the rig
