Mine keep falling out and losing power on the rig.
I think this is strange. I use them on a lot of gear and haven't had
this problem. They are not held in with a great deal of force, and they

Bob,
It sounds like the contact blades of your APP connector are not inserted
all the way into the housing.
The blade should extend over the spring finger in the housing.
If you do have them assembled that way, then I need to ask - just how
much stress is being placed onto the connector
Hi Vic
Well, it turns out I'm part of the problem :-)
I was so sure I had the blade in the red plug
all the way in, but I just checked it under a
lighted magnifying glass, and it had not gone
over the retaining ridge near the front opening.
I pushed some more and got it to click over
the ridge.
My K3/100 kit #757 arrived today and assembly has started.

one that I ever bought was first sold to someone before they marked it up and
sold it to me. At least that's what the AES, HRO and Jun's sales

The K2 DSP firmware is and has been open since inception. Free

Excellent question, Bob!!
You caused me to check. I have several APP cables about, to I hooked two of
them together and added weights to one while lifting with the other until
they separated.
My test pair separated at 1.2 kg or just over 2.6 lbs. I consider that

says it should be compatible with the K3 also, even to
plugging into the RS-232 port on the K3. Tried it and the
KRC2 isn't responding, so now I'm trying to figure out why.
The K3 manual implies the cabling between KRC2 and K2

I quite agree with you Brian, I didn't think there was any other way of
monitoring SSB reliably. I've always used a scope way back when I used to
build AM transmitters and I have one permanently connected so I can keep an
eye on what's going on, meters tell lies I find.
