My radios only do the power ramp up the first time you transmit after changing
bands. Doesn’t take that long though. Less than one second I would guess. As
noted, it’s the power control loop. Usually it’s not that noticeable.

Its affecting everything - Tried to by a bunch of 555 timing chips for the
local troops scouting project - none around, glad we don't need them till
November.

Config -> LIN OUT -> tap REV/2 button. Use VFO A knob to adjust t= xxx to set
transmit monitor level. 0 = none and up from there. Mine are set at 010.
YMMV.

seem
to be a big problem up here. One lineman told me they changed vendors to a new
style and he’s seen quite a few go bad.
My noise guy is still around, office in Cottonwood, just south of here.
Friendly enough, and does help the process move forward.

If your KAT500 is not working that way with the IC-7610 TUNER button then I
would recheck the cable wiring and verify that the KAT500 is connected to
ANT1 on the IC-7610. If those are good it is possible there is a problem
with the KAT500.
Good luck!

ally useful and most ops of non Elecraft gear seem to just let
the KPA500 (and KAT500) RF sense the transmitted RF to make necessary
selections. Be sure to read the KAT500 manual section regarding "training"
your tuner.

different vendors.
What are the vendor names?
Do you have a schematic diagram of either/both cables?
If you are interested, I can send you a schematic of the cable I built.

in hot exhaust from the top vents back into the amp. Of course this
won’t be a problem if you have the amp on a desk with nothing above it. I have
the minimum recommended clearance of 2” above the amp, and 4” above the power
supply.

“just not publically posted.”
Which seems very strange since they post for all the radios, which are far more
complex. When I asked about a schematic, I was told “No”. Same with some
updates.
Just seems strange.

is too short, 300
ms works, but may be overkill. If the value is 200 ms or less the radio drops
a few dits at 36 wpm when you first transmit after a split mode change.
What would be a good typical value that would always work?
Tnx,
