[EVDL] Think City noisy heater blower

My 2011 Enerdel Think City heater blower has become quite noisy and vibrates the dash when at the higher settings. Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution? Thanks, Paul Wallace ___ Address messages to ev@lists.evdl.org No other addresses

The below message from Bill D. is interesting and points out the loss stack up quite clearly. I use a PM100 (Rinehart Motion, now Cascadia Motion) inverter with an induction motor (Ford ranger EV Siemens surplus). The up side of the PM100 using the simple state machine mode and the direct

I’ve been amused with all this work going into autonomous trucking, but I wonder if the money and energy wouldn’t be better spent with serious upgrades to freight rail service, including long haul electrification. Much of what I hear and see with the vision of trucking is that eventually, the

John, I’m using the Elcon UHF 6.6kw charger in my S10 conversion. I replaced a Manzanita PFC40 with it. I have an Elithion Lithiumate Pro BMS which knows how to interact over CAN with the Elcon. I only use level2 J1772 EVSE. The Elithion doesn’t have a native J1772 interface so I just use

I’ve got one of the 1994.5 versions of the USE S10. It didn’t have many miles on it when I got it, but as has been noted, data and parts were hard to come by and it wasn’t running. I took out the Hughes bits and replaced with a PM100 inverter and Siemens motor for the drive train. I was able

Years ago I was hired to create ‘car noises’ for an electric 4 wheel drive ATV. I put together a frankenboard arrangement of demo boards and a firmware friend wrote some clever code. We were able to acquire wav files of a Harley at different RPM as well as some jet engine noises. We created

Actually, CCS uses power line communication protocol. TI makes the silicon, but you need transformers and it is quite difficult to get it right. I think the communication is actually superimposed on the pilot signal, not the actual AC mains. Why make it harder than it already is? Here is a

Cor, thanks for checking into this. I contacted EMW on the subject last year, but found that the JBs from around 2015 are no longer supported and in fact there was only one person in support other than the original designer who had any history with them. I did replace the little AC/DC power

Cor, finally, someone with some background with the Juicebox Classic silver case unit. I've got a Juicebox classic 40A on a 50amp outlet which should put out enough power for my PFC40 charger. It works fine with both the 2017 Volt and the 2015 Spark, but they can only manage around 3.3kw. The

Philip, I'm using the Lithiumate Pro, vintage about 2010. Once the firmware was updated the system works very well. There are small PCBs which monitor each cell voltage and temperature. The cell boards are mounted directly to one of the cell terminals, giving good temperature monitoring

I'm in Oregon. We have quite a nice network or Aerovironment chargers, both level 2 and DCFC with Chademo support. I'm about to take on a lease for a 2016 Spark EV which has a CCS combo connector. CCS s upport in Oregon/Washington is very limited to mostly the I5 Corridor, with some notable

Cor, I suppose the question is what didn’t I replace. I kept the basic truck, the battery box, most of the motor to transmission adapter (although I had to rebuild it after the stainless shaft sheared off all the inner splines), and the transmission. I’m using a Manzanita Micro PFC40WC

[EVDL] Does anyone have schematics for the control board in a Juicebox classic 40A?

2017-08-14 Thread Paul Wallace via EV
I just bought a used Juicebox classic 40 amp level 2 EVSE. All appeared to be great as it charges my 2017 Volt without issues. It will also charge my S10 conversion if I don’t turn up the power past about 4kw. If I turn up the truck charger to 6kw however, the Juicebox will work for about 10
