You might be able to even make it automatically adjust the focus to slightly
off-centre alignment, thereby making parking easier and the whole she-bang more
efficient. And maybe focus vertically as well as laterally/longitudinally? MW

Remember that the early Teslas had a two-speed transmission that proved
to be a disaster. They cured the problems by simply removing the source
of the problem: The transmission.
If you install proper motor cooling and controller cooling, and perhaps
upgrade the motor or controller, then the
Cable theft is a primary reason for wireless power transfer. Carrying a
cable with you just means you make it easier for someone to steal your
copper. Heck, even in my relatively safe suburb I have to worry about my
power cords disappearing!

Me, too. However, consumers might not care (unfortunately). In other
words, you might pay 15% more to cover losses but compared to what?
Consumers will be happy to just park and have the charge happen
automatically. Unless energy costs are really

at what cost? Are we going to replace a $50 wire with a $2,000 wireless?
Yes. :-/ As long as someone else pays for that $2000 wireless setup and the
extra electricity it uses, consumers will fall for it. Of course, it is usually
the consumer that pays, whether he realizes it
In Europe the charging posts have no cable, only a standardized
connector.
You carry the charging cable with you, of the appropriate wire size for
the charging needs of your EV.
So, there are no cut charging station cables, at worst your own cable is
damaged or stolen. This does not stop anyone

Is it possible to use multiple coils to focus the beam?
Magnetic fields are devilishly difficult to direct or focus.
With electricity, we have great conductors (copper, silver, etc.) and great
insulators (air, plastics, etc.) There are *many* orders of magnitude
difference
Thanks for your layman explanations. I follow.

to have high torque and lower rpm. It would fit right in line with the
drive shaft. You cut the drive shaft and attach one end to the front
of the motor and the
