[FairfieldLife] The end of Yahoo-Groups !

2020-10-20 Thread Doug Hamilton dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]

Within a dysfunctional capitalism evidently this Verizon Corp purchase of
Yahoo! appears as something similar to corporate Reader’s Digest’s buying Earl
Kaplan’s “Reading is Fun” business for 267 million or so $, letting
bean-counters and outside managers come in and destroy what was an ongoing
business. Then, Earl buying the name back for a paltry few million after a
couple of years or so. A stunning devaluation.   (..that was a told as a
journalism in the group archive of FFL.)

After Verizon corp bought Yahoo! last year, the whole service has sequentially
degraded terribly to this.

[FairfieldLife] Fw: Resending, since not everyone received: Domes to close Sunday evening

2020-03-14 Thread Doug Hamilton dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]

-- Forwarded message -
From: Dome Announcements

Subject: Resending, since not everyone received: Domes to close Sunday evening

March 12, 2020

Dear Yogic Flyers,

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has told us that older adults have a
higher risk of getting seriously ill from the coronavirus (COVID – 19).

To lessen the risk of a large portion of the Super Radiance community
contracting and spreading the disease we have decided to take a serious step to
protect everyone’s health:

After the Sunday evening program this week, we will close
all Fairfield and Maharishi Vedic City flying halls until further notice.

We strongly urge everyone to continue their program at home, lifting off at the
usual times morning d evening. It will not be possible to Round at home. Those
on the IAA Grant will continue to receive their monthly grant check at the
average rate of participation over the last 6 months. While we hate to halt the
Super Radiance program even temporarily, we will continue to generate coherence
for the Nation from home during this delicate health time for the Country and
the World.

On a positive note, we are sending out an email to all Governors, Sidhas and
Meditators in the U.S. encouraging them to coordinate their program times with
those of us in our community – or at another set time within their time zones
– to help create additional coherence during these delicate times.

We are looking into the best way to continue the daily phone call to the
Invincible America Assembly. Safety First!

[FairfieldLife] In Radical Political Spirituality..

2020-01-28 Thread Doug Hamilton dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
I Went to the Democrat’s caucus information meeting last night at the public’s
library.

In leaving with some campaign’s sticker stuck on my coat at the meeting’s end I
was asked to express opinion and then accosted, assaulted, by one of the
meeting organizers as my being divisive and angry in that. I am thankful for
that consult now for like Tulsi critiquing the nature of partisan party
division in Congress I will vote ‘present’ in affect for the caucus by going to
the communal group Dome meditation during the caucus hour.

The meeting was large wherein I came to caution with friends against mixing
with people in their human policies and outward forms of government - showing
in all ages that those that were called to be the Lord’s people in nature had
been ruined and destroyed by such associations, manifesting clearly by
scripture testimonies and other records that our strength and preservation
consisted in standing alone and not to be counted among the people or nations
who were setting up partial and party interests -one against another-  which is
the true ground of all war and bloodshed, being actuated by the spirit of pride
and wrath which is always opposed to the true Christian Spirit that breathes
peace on earth and good will to all men. And therefore, we cannot use any
coercive force or compulsion by any means whatever - not being overcome with
evil, but overcoming evil with good.

And although there were many opposite spirits present who, in their creaturely
wisdom and human policy, are pleading for those kinds of associations and
taking part with these political governments, yet Truth favors and comes into a
good degree of dominion over all - to the strengthening and encouraging by
demonstration the true travailers for Zion’s prosperity.

In our meditating churches and  such places of spiritual practice like the
Domes, Truth is favored in an eminent manner where many hearts are deeply bowed
from the sensible evidence of the prevailing of the devine power that is in
dominion over all, to the tendering of hearts of most present. This is a
precious season, worthy of thankful remembrance and humble gratitude to the
Blessed Author of Nature and all our rich mercies and blessing, which is over
all, blessing forever.

The crowd of the meeting appeared in a low state, as to a right ordering of the
affairs of the party by reason whereof many and great were the apparent
divisions among them.

The greater part are too much captivated by a worldly spirit which leads into a
neglect of attending to their True spiritual nature and a great carelessness in
respect to the right ordering of their families and community. By reason many
undue liberties have got in among them wounding the faith.

Om how the gold becomes dim, how is the most fine gold changed! Some that
retain a good degree of outward spiritual plainness themselves have
nevertheless for want of dwelling enough in the pure Spring of Life suffered
the eye of their minds to be so far blinded by the god of this world as not
only to suffer these improper indulgences but in some instances are ready to
plead for them. The sense thereof much affected my mind under which exercise I
was led forth in to a line of close searching labor to more diligence and
honest care in those respects which afforded  degrees in comfort which is a
treasure I prefer to all this world’s glory and honor.

Stirring up to more vigilance in a careful waiting for the arising of the
Spring of Life, as nothing short of the divine power and renewed quickenings of
the Holy Spirit, can qualify for the promotion of good order and discipline in
the community.

I vote ‘present’.

Opening points:
 • People get polarized in different perspectives. The more they focus
exclusively on their perspective, the more justification for it they find.
 • Learning to appreciate paradox; accommodating different viewpoints within a
broader perspective.
 • Enlightenment as Totality. Only Totality can realize Totality.
 • Totality has no difficulty reconciling paradoxes.
 • Getting comfortable with paradox might be conducive to our realization of
Totality.

Examples of contradictory realities:
 • free will vs. determinism
 • personal self vs. no-self
 • Are we already enlightened, or must enlightenment be attained?
 • Is practice an aid or an obstacle?
 • Is the guru model dead?
 • Does non-duality imply that there are no stages of spiritual growth?
 • direct vs. progressive paths
 • patience vs. determination on the spiritual path

Additional points covered:
 • Acting in accordance with your own experience, not a concept of someone
else’s.
 • Absolute reality does not negate relative realities.
 • Radically different realities at different levels of nature’s functioning
are perfectly compatible with one another.
 • Incorporating universal and individual perspectives – ocean and wave,
boundless and boundaries.
 • My experience in doing BatGap.

Recorded at the Science and Nonduality Conference, October 27, 2019.

Re: [FairfieldLife] The old FFL mail archive..

2019-12-29 Thread Doug Hamilton dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]

Sorry that the format has changed. Evidently email sent to the yahoo group does
get sent through.

Verizon Corp is the recent new owner of Yahoo! With the change of ownership
came this change that the content of the group will no longer be held for view
on the yahoo-group page. The group service now is simply as an email list. I
suspect that Verizon is dumping a privacy liability that their hosting of open
group content could present for the corporation.

But an archive was set up separate from Yahoo.

I see that the mail archive is still picking up and copying current email sent
to Fairfieldlife at yahoo. Evidently FFL can be followed at the mail archive.
The archive can be searched over there. ..

- or by teleconference at  712-770 8027, CONFERENCE CODE 468716.

Conversation From the Fairfield satsang..

Q: David Spero is very good at a transmission of soul energy but this other, he
is not directly of this other process of spiritual body, subtle body and
cultivating those processes as the heart-mind and such as Janet, Matt, or
Cynthia particularly entail it.

A: You can see why because all that can become distracting in itself. It is
funny, one sort of chooses one distraction for another.

It used to be that it was meditation, meditation, meditation in the meditating
community until it became more multi-formed in a coming on of ‘Vedic Sciences’.
..That is because we needed to have the elevated value of this, the beautiful.
Then is the sublime value of the Divine masculine, it is this open mind, it is
this capacity of consciousness itself, the experience of the silence. But it is
only part of what needs to happen in this process.

In David there is a type of unification in process in what unity is, there is
both. In what makes unity unity is not just infinite unbounded silence but
infinite unbounded silence and infinite unbounded dynamism together at the same
time. Not one or the other but both wedded. That is what Cynthia Bourgeault was
talking about with this ecstatic languaging in Christianity, that there is a
way it gets language-ed historically.

Q: AND THEN you have David Spero activating, transmitting soul energy this
other aspect, shakti. Is able to trigger that palpably in people. He is very
effective at transmitting this.

A: That is the first track Matt Kahn is describing, that is what the first
group is. That is that job. His job is the first ascension group. He is out
there holding the light, that is his job.

In FF satsang:

...Don’t get hung up on Matt Kahn’s goofy shirts that he wears. or his
delivery.

But Matt Kahn is cheering on those of us who are so interested in and have been
dedicated to spiritual development, the Big “S” Spiritual development,
upliftment. That it is not for nothing. That because as one has been engaged in
it that it is not useless in this world or it is frivolous or inconsequential
to what needs to happen here. That actually it holds the vibration and holds
the criminal element back.

He says that it is all part of one light, even the ones who are asleep. They
are all still of the light. It is very uplifting. He has quite a construct of
understanding, as a teacher at another level, as a native adept, like Janet
Sussman. He is both very practical and advaitin-like in a way he strips down to
the essentials, stripping the constructs, the excess to get to the essentials,
the essential value of nonduality, which Cynthia very astutely gets to.  .

---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com,  wrote :

The FF Satsang continuing, over coffee:

“..They are meant to be together (head and heart) . You don’t abdicate the
head, the brain, the mind or the heart, they are together, the ‘masculine and
feminine’..”

Q: it sets up a duality talking about this, identifying it.

A: What Matt Kahn points out is that there are people on various tracks, we are
all on ascension tracks, we are all in tracks, this is not a better than the
other. The first track is the one is where the people are standing in light
where the people are light bearers. Where people are light holders. The people

The Glory of Being near Guru Dev

>From a talk about Guru Dev which Maharishi gave in Hertenstein, Switzerland
>around 1974-1976

. The priceless transcendental nectar in which saints and seekers lose
themselves and forget everything during their deep meditations in silent barren
places - when that same nectar, that very same experience is had in nearness to
the lotus feet of Guru Dev, in an unmoving and stable manner, with the eyes
open and in a completely wakeful state, the incomparably blissful
transcendental torrent floods the inside and outside, and the mind is drowned
in ecstasy.

Certainly this state in the nearness to the lotus feet of Guru Dev is much more
desirable and enjoyable than the state where we forgot everything in samadhi.
In that state at the lotus feet of Guru Dev, wave upon wave of the bliss of
samadhi rises in myriads of forms and channels in complete wakefulness. That is
the experience of jivan mukti, by the grace of the lotus feet of Guru Dev. The
experience of the unshakable bliss of samadhi, when we are completely awake, is
the jivan mukti, drowned in which the great Mahatmas become Brahman.

At this time in this silence, in the nearness to Guru Dev, that is the
experience. There is an inexpressible happiness, a feeling of huge elation, the
heart is overwhelmed by ecstatic feeling like the heaving of an ocean of love,
an ocean of bliss, as if the blissfulness of pure consciousness is rising in
powerful torrents to surface from somewhere deep inside; and outside, Guru
Dev's wordless, enchanting, inviting, nectar- like love is an infinitely large
ocean.

Torrential waves are rising from this limitless ocean on the outside, and
diving deep inside and having struck the deepest depths, are rising outwards
again and again, and then falling at the lotus feet of Guru Dev in voiceless
ripples softly heaving and vibrating in ecstasy. The hand and feet and ears and
all the senses, together with the heart and mind and intellect, are bursting
with the fullness of that ecstatic feeling.

Every tiny atom of the body is enveloped in that unbounded transcendental bliss
of Brahmananda, and is melting into that experience as if into an indivisible,
everlasting union with pure radiant love, untouched by time, space, or any
other constraint. The limitless ocean of the heart bursts forth in wave upon
torrential wave of invincibility and freedom.

That unchanging, eternally stable, and timeless bliss, which is beyond the
senses and transcendental in every way, is being experienced at the surface
value of life at one single time simultaneously by all the senses, by every
part of the physical body, and by the entire heart, mind, and intellect - all
this by the grace and love of Guru Dev. The whole of life, the gross physical
body, the subtle body, the transcendental inner phase of life, is throbbing and
heaving with ecstatic feeling that is only bliss, just ecstasy and the nearness
of Guru Dev.

Outside on the terrace, it is as if the gentle ripples of the lake are nudging
the sides and sleeping vegetation to awaken them to enjoy the tender moonlight.
And there, on the terrace, the divine illumination of the lotus feet of Guru
Dev is giving the power of life to the brilliant, inexpressible, transcendental
sun of pure consciousness, to allow its waves to shake the heart of the
ignorant disciple, to bring enlightenment and jivan mukti. The disciple is
awakening from sleep. He is rising up. His ignorance and doubts are being
erased. The fog facing him is lifting and the long journey is being quickly
completed; the goal is becoming visible; it is right in front. Reaching it is
all that is left. The other shore barely appears, and Guru Dev, the captain of
the boat, throws a chain around the docking post to hasten his disciple's
arrival.

Great good fortune is needed to be able to experience the unbounded grace of
Guru Dev and to continue to drink of that infinite ocean of bliss…

The point being brought out here is the blissfulness experienced in nearness to
the true Master. The point to notice is how the Guru, by giving his disciples
and other seekers the experience of the different and varied aspects of Brahman
strengthens every disciple's progress on the path of evolution and carries him
to the pinnacle of perfection. The thing is the same, pure consciousness, but
the Guru gives the disciple experiences of it in such a variety of ways that
remove every shadow of doubt that could become an obstacle to the disciple's
progress.

This is the glory of being near Guru Dev

Outside of Fairfield, people intently ask, “What is going on in Fairfield?”
The spiritual, utopian side of Fairfield is something they are wondering about.
Fairfield has become recognized as a spiritual Mecca of sorts, ranking with
Sedona, Arizona, Boulder and Crestone, Colorado or Ashville, North Carolina and
the like. Within these past three decades, Fairfield spiritual practice groups
have matured, giving this community a rich, new face.

The long-time Fairfield meditating community today is its own center for
spiritual practice. The breadth of spiritual practice groups in Fairfield is

[FairfieldLife] A Meditating Community...

2019-12-07 Thread Doug Hamilton dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
9.14.2001  20 years ago Post # 7 to FairfieldLife,
Rick proposing:
"I’ve love to see a public announcement like the following from the Department
of the Development of Consciousness (the people who give out the badges):

Dear Fairfield Sidhas and Governors,

First, we would like to publicly apologize for ever having excluded from the
domes anyone who wanted to practice Maharishi’s program there. We would like to
welcome everyone back on the condition that if you are in the dome, you promise
to practice what you have learned from Maharishi – no more, no less. In turn,
we promise to never again judge or exclude anyone for what they may choose to
do with their private life. We possess neither the wisdom nor the right to do
this. Let us all come together again in a spirit of love and acceptance, and
begin once more to radiate the harmony and coherence for which the domes were
built.

Jai Guru Dev,

The Department of the Development of Consciousness

..numbers flying in the domes would double overnight."

/  From FFL post 6, before Rick's reply:
I think it is an exciting thing that they opened up the doors
for meetings on campus. Is there a thawing? Or is this just
expedience? It has been getting pretty small and cold up there. So
it was noteworthy what you sent
out. I missed the call to meeting initially but I would have gone if
I had known. I do
not really expect anymore that anything is open to the community up
there.
We live here and we do our programs but we are sort of out of
the loop, being "no-badge-niks".
Some of what the movement is doing I am not necessarily
interested in. But as an old-time meditator I am here and I am
interested.

Though the movement might not believe it, I am probably more
conservative
and fundamental than they would rate me. As someone posted in an e-
mail to me recently, "Hope all is well in the lovely peaceful land of
Iowa. I hear we are all invited back to the domes again? Silly fools
to have chased us all away in the first place. Oh well."

I wrote this piece below recently this summer hoping to get
it published in the Weekly Reader back when they were publishing
things about the community. I thought you might enjoy it.

2019-12-07 Thread Doug Hamilton dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
14.sept.2001, FairfieldLife:
An opportunity...

A Meditating Community

I meditate. I am an old style field TM Initiator and I am an
old style movement Governor. Like so many here I am a meditator,
fundamentally.

In coming to Fairfield, most of us have come here as TM
meditators. Some of us came as TM initiators. Some of us came here
as TM-Sidhas or some as TM Governors. We have come from many places
and points. From many points though, the common point of the
meditating community has been that we are here as practicing
meditators.

We share a lot of history together. Some of us have been
meditators of 30 and 40 years. Many of us here are mediators of 20
or more years. Many of 5, 10 or 15 years. There are a few new
meditators today but the core of the movement community here is a
veteran group.

As a community we are in common as mediators. In common we
have had much to draw on as meditators and then also as initiators
and Governors. In numbers we have been a powerful resource to draw
on because of a strength of diversity we have brought as meditators
in community. There is a huge diversity in our group.

We have a great community here. Many of us have watched it
grow. Many of us have worked to make it grow. It has been vibrant
and a lot of fun to be in.

Today, in recent years and times, it is apparent to witness
that there are many many meditators living in Fairfield who are
without place in the TM movement. There are lots of people who are
old time long term meditators living here and also around the country
without place in the current movement. It is a curious thing that
there can be hundreds and hundreds of meditators living here in the
town community who have little or no contact or relationship to what
today has become a small and shrinking enclave of the movement
community.
We see these many people here when we do come together to
marry or bury our community. We see each other up town everywhere.
We do not see each other so much on campus or in the movement
anymore. As an event, probably the last truly inclusive community
group meditation was held last fall at the memorial for Alex Grace
held in the chapel. It was a significant last moment in the
meditating community here.

In effect, as we are meditators in practice and in heart we
are without an organ of a movement. In looking, there is a huge
opportunity, if the movement elite could see it, in the base of the
people who are here as meditators doing their meditation and doing
their TM-Sidhis as meditators. The speculation for all of us
watching is whether there may be too much pride or too much arrogance
inside the movement now to see what is here at hand. Possibly it is
beyond the nature of character of too many in the middle to recoup.
There is always hope.

Of Support and facility...

In general, as a meditator, to the extent that I may look to
the movement, I look to it to support my practice as a meditator.
As an initiator, I look to the movement to support us in the teaching
of TM. As a governor I look to the movement to facilitate.
Supporting and facilitating, our needs as a meditating community are
about that simple.

Beyond what could be done directly to administratively
support and facilitate practicing meditators, as practicing
meditators, meditators may or may not be interested at all in
anything further coming from the movement as new knowledge.
Meditators may do their practice. However, as meditators we may or
we may not necessarily be interested in vedic architecture or
astrology or education or service or political rantings or anything
else that the movement may franchise.
Beyond a quiet practice which itself is self-evident, any of
the new knowledge may or may not be interesting or compelling. As a
group, the essential relationship for practicing meditators with the
movement has always been experiential and practical, and has not been
until recently now, faith-based otherwise.

Of course, in reflecting, in the culture of the TM movement
there is no place to rate ourselves on how we might be doing as a
movement organized. No place even to ask or reflect how we might be
doing supporting meditators or supporting teachers or sidhas. Versus
our ideal administration, reflecting on our own administration in any
way practical would of course be too negative. Would it be too
practical?

There is a huge opportunity, if the movement enclave could
see it, in the base of the people who are here as meditators doing
their meditation and doing their TM-Sidhis as meditators. The
speculation for all of us watching is whether there may be too much
rigid pride or too much arrogance inside the movement now to see what
is here at hand. Possibly it is beyond the nature of character of
too many in the middle to recoup. There is always hope.

Subject: Update on our Golden Domes

| |

|
Dear Doug and Jennifer,

Last year I wrote to you about a critically important new initiative to help
sustain our beautiful Golden Domes at Maharishi University of Management.

We are all so grateful to the many generous donors who have recognized the
vital importance of keeping our Domes open and functional—and who have joined
our new “Dome Supporters 1800 Group” to help safeguard these cherished homes of
enlightenment and coherence in the U.S. But we still have a ways to go if we
want to be able to preserve our Domes on a secure and sustainable basis.

   - Our first priority for our beautiful Domes is to fill them. Everyone who
has spent program time here knows the power and depth of Dome experiences. In
this spirit, we invite you to be in the Domes if you’re in Fairfield, and to
visit us often if you’re not.
   - In order to keep the Domes open and available to everyone, we face some
real financial challenges. The actual cost to maintain the Domes—heating,
cooling, lighting, water, and maintenance—is $270,000 a year. That’s about
$22,500 a month, or $5,200 a week. At present, thanks to the generosity of
donors from around the world, we can cover about half these costs sustainably.
But we can’t cover the other half without your help. And we don’t want to close
even one of our beautiful Domes.
   - Last year we established a large group of Sidhas from around the country
to help sustain the Domes financially —a complementary national Super Radiance
group, if you will—called the “Dome Supporters 1800 group.” The goal is simple:
If 1800 Sidhas were each to commit even $15 a month to sustain the Domes—a very
affordable contribution—the Dome maintenance costs would be completely covered,
very easily and comfortably for everyone. So many Sidhas recognized the value
of this proposal and responded generously, and now I’m hoping to bring this
project to a very fulfilling fruition. Will you join us?
   - Naturally, those of you with greater financial means are welcome and
encouraged to make a larger contribution. You could consider $50–100 or more
per month; or you could “adopt a week” at the Domes for a $5,200 gift; or you
could even “adopt a month” or more. But whatever your financial means may be,
we would like everyone to contribute something toward this worthy and
achievable goal.
   - Ideally, we want you to be part of both groups—our Super Radiance group in
the Domes and our 1,800 group of contributors. But if you can’t be in one of
these groups, then please be in the other. Your contributions will secure our
Golden Domes—now and into the future.

Together, we can ensure that the largest peace-creating community in the U.S.
can continue to grow and provide a beautiful home for TM and TM-Sidhi
practitioners everywhere in the world.

Please join me in giving generously today. Thank you.

With all best wishes,

John Hagelin, Ph.D.

 Hi everyone,
I'm sending this notice to all that I have contacted about the bank of
sustainability project, the Golden Rule Trust. There is a community wide
meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening on December 12th at 7:30 pm. The location
is the Phoenix Rising Hall on the corner of 3rd and Burlington. The most
significant challenge that we face as humans today I believe is learning the
strength that we have available in local cooperation, rather than depending on
the fictional rational that someone else from somewhere else is going to do it
for us.
An accomplishment that Fairfield still needs to complete lies in having enough
jobs to support a larger prosperous population. This will be essential for
attracting and retaining the number of people we would like to see living here.
A larger population is also critical for maintaining a diversity of cultural
programs and civic amenities. I personally do not see another viable means of
making that a reality along with the prosperity that will accompany it
happening within a reasonable time frame other than having our own bank.
There is a two page summary of the project attached to this email. If there is
someone that you think will be interested in the project please send it to
them. I hope to see everyone, or at least all who can possibly come Tuesday
evening. Thank you for your interest!

[FairfieldLife] Fw: C. Connoisseurs: World Ramayana Conference Epic Adventures 1 [11 Attachments]

2017-02-02 Thread Doug Hamilton dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]

 Dear Consciousness Connoisseurs,
It has been a while since I sent out any word on my latest adventures in the
field of consciousness, but I just returned from a month in India, where I
presented at the World Ramayana Conference...and that's a story worth telling!
I mainly wanted to send you a video link to my presentation, but before that,
here's a little bit of background...     Last Fall, I received an invitation to
speak at the World Ramayana Conference in Jabalpur in December.  The invite
came out of the blue, and what made it sweeter was that it was an
all-expenses-paid trip by the Indian government (Indian Council on Cultural
Relations--ICCR).  There was some irony--a Westerner being brought in by the
Indian government to speak to Indians on the Ramayana.  Go figure!
I expected a dry academic conference.  Little did I anticipate the Ramayana
extravaganza that I would be walking into.  The tip-off came the day before the
conference, when we got word at our hotel to come over right away to the
conference facility, a short walk away.  All the streets were blocked off, and
there was a full military cover guard, complete with armored vehicles, as the
Chief Minister (comparable to our VP here) had come to inaugurate the event.
As I walked over, I was garlanded, everyone in the streets greeted me with a
Jai Shri Ram, and the streets were lined with large images depicting the entire
story of the Ramayana.
The experience actually went up from there.  The conference turned out to be a
four-day festival embracing Ramayana-inspired political activism, beautiful
cultural exhibitions, inspiring spiritual discourses, and world-class
performances, with an academic conference sandwiched in between.  International
delegations from countries that adore the Ramayana, such as Thailand, Burma and
Indonesia, added to the cultural diversity.
The event culminated in one final grand Ram Lila (dance/drama) performance in
our packed 1500-seat conference hall.  During the finale, Ram and Sita were
being showered with buckets of flower petals thrown by the other performers.
In a frenzy of devotion, audience members rushed on to the stage. Grown men and
women (myself included, of course) were singing, dancing and scooping up and
throwing flower petals in celebration of Ram's and Sita's triumphant return to
Ayodhya to create Ram Raj (the enlightened rulership of Ram).
Postscript:  Based on my past experiences,I had never been thrilled about
visiting India, but this time I finally understood the heart and soul of India.
This extraordinary depth of knowledge and devotion is so lively at its very
core.  I also witnessed that the Ramayana is still a powerful living tradition,
evoking a vitality, creativity and dynamism that continues to inspire, uplift
and transform all who come in contact with its wisdom.

[FairfieldLife] Fw: Fwd: Can Fairfield become a garden city? A dahlia city? [10 Attachments]

2017-01-04 Thread Doug Hamilton dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]

  Show original message
FW:

Dear FF friends:  I've been growing dahlias in and around Fairfield, Iowa for 9
years, starting with beds at the Logan apartments and most recently staking 70
plants on the easements near 5th & Broadway and 6th & Broadway. Some of my
fellow gardeners have suggested this effort could be expanded and formalized;
that we could turn the entire city in a big dahlia garden, sort of like Pella
is now known for its tulips.

This is *not* an expensive project. It's relatively cheap, especially compared
to other projects that have run into the 10s of millions of dollars.

To make Fairfield a dahlia city would take no more than a few hundred dollars.
Maybe a thousand or two, max. Assuming we didn't have to procure any land,
which we shouldn't.

I've been working mostly on public land and on the MUM campus, but there are
privately owned lots that would serve just as well.

It's apparent the main issues that must be addressed are:  (1) who will do the
work  -and-  (2) where will irrigation water come from.

I've thought about this a little, and maybe you can do the same. While you're
thinking, have a look at a history of Fairfield's dahlias on the website I've
set up. It documents what I've been doing myself for 9 years. And there are a
handful of other gardeners around Fairfield who have been inspired to grow
dahlias in their own yards. Kate Ross, the Boenders, Colleen Bell, Tim Hart, to
name a few. So maybe some of us can come together and cooperate to make this
happen.

Note: the two gardens on the easement I had this past summer will need special
approval to come back again next spring, as the use of that land is controlled
by city ordinance.
cheers ... Al Gabis, 52 S. Fifth St., Fairfield, 515-897-5173,

| I wanted to let everyone know that I received a Maharishi award, last
Thursday night. This is a great honor. In no way do I see this as an award for
just me. This is a recognition of the channel that we have all created together
to make a difference real in our communities here and now. I say communities,
because it isn't just the on-campus world that we have made such huge inroads
on. This represents a sea change in the acceptance of mental health issues, and
therefore, something we should all be proud of. This is the change that we have
all created in the acceptance of mental health issues, the removal of stigma
and misunderstandings, and the creation of healing and significant growth for
everyone here in all our diversity, and all the variations of our communities.

I'm very grateful for great Soren recording this event and sharing with us his
YouTube of Ken's noble speech and my short acceptance of this award.
Soren's YouTube of the entire event is at: https:,//www.youtube.com/
watch?v=ASykJOQ6T2A

I also wanted to wish everyone a: Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy
Kwanzaa, or whatever holiday you celebrate now.  May this glorious New Year
bring you and yours, growth, evolution, transformation, healing and progress.
May bring you fulfillment of your Dharma and acceptance of your truth in the
greatest of all possibilities for all of us in lasting fullness of peace. Peace
is your love of connection with the world around you. While loving the other in
you. Peace the gap of transcendence, the process from inside you to outside.
From point to infinity. From self to Self to other and back again. Or simply,
just a moment of harmony, reconciliation, hello, good bye, and peace for each
and every soul, however you create that world for yourself, now. Peace.
Scott

| Please see important P.P.S. at the bottom!Dear Sidhas and Governors of
Fairfield,The atmosphere in Fairfield and Maharishi Vedic City is much
enlivened these days with the influx of Sidhas and Governors from around the
country — and even from other countries — who have come to join us in creating
coherence in national consciousness during this unusually turbulent election
period. Wherever we meet them, in the Domes or the square or the supermarkets,
let’s give them such a warm welcome that they won’t want to leave our oasis of
happiness. The extra numbers in the flying halls remind us of all those times
when the Domes were overflowing, and we just felt invincible and blissful
despite whatever was going on in the world. You’ve probably heard from friends
that, recently, many in our community are re-discovering group program. They’re
experiencing anew that special light feeling as you walk out of the Dome after
program. The current elections are crucial to the future of our nation in many
ways. It is not just the executive; it is all three branches of government
which hang in the balance. Let’s use the powerful technology of group program
that Maharishi gave us to ensure the best possible outcome for the whole
country. The evidence for the Maharishi Effect continues to mount up. Another
compelling, new study came out in February of this year, again based on
publicly available statistics. This is a scientific breakthrough that outstrips
all others in its power to do good for ourselves, our nation, and our world.Jai
Guru DevRaja John HagelinP.S. I want to be clear that as a non-profit
organization, we do not support any one candidate over any other candidate.
Natural Law, when enlivened by our group practice, will support the best
outcome for the nation.P.P.S. This does not mean that we, as individuals, do
not support specific candidates. We do. And we should be sure to exercise our
civic duty and vote for the candidates we believe will serve the nation in the
most evolutionary way. |

technique for over 40 years and has had many careers, including construction
and furniture sales. During a business trip to Panama in 2006, Kim witnessed
the environmental devastation of corporate influence among the indigenous
population. He decided to turn his attention to sustainability and return to
school.Kim enrolled in MUM’s sustainable living program and, after receiving
his undergraduate degree in 2015, continued with the master’s program. “The
sustainable living program is excellent,” said Kim. “The professors are the
most important part. We had some teachers that gave us world-class education.
This program is for change-makers.”Kim has been busy applying what he has
learned in class. With the help of his son Garrett, he has built an
off-the-grid, zero net energy home that is surrounded by a small organic farm.
Six years ago, Kim funded a nonprofit organization called Charity Seeds, along
with MUM alumna Christina Ring. They are helping small-scale famers become
self-reliant through sustainable growing methods so that they can feed their
families.Kim is partnering with John Jeavons’ organization that trains teachers
in John’s Grow Biointensive Sustainable Mini-Farming methods. These teachers
recruit the farmers and Charity Seeds provides them with seeds and trains them
how to save their seeds at the end of the growing season. Over the past six
years, they have helped install 12,000 small farms in Kenya and Uganda. In
addition, in those two countries, they are now building gardens and food
forests around schools and teaching children how to grow their own food.As his
thesis project, Kim is opening up a new Charity Seeds hub in Ecuador. In
addition to teaching farmers how to grow food sustainably, his organization is
also planning to support local artists, who turn seeds into jewelry, by selling
their hand-made products online. “We will make sure the whole process is
sustainable and benefits their lives,” said Kim. The project is also planning
to offer internship possibilities for MUM students in permaculture and
biodynamic agriculture.  |

| AUGUST 16, 2016The October Surprise!Creating a Wave of National Coherence
for the ElectionsDear Sidhas and Governors,This election season is like no
other. It has polarized America more than any other. And whoever wins, it will
leave a very large segment of our population deeply frustrated—dangerously
disenfranchised. More than ever, we need a wave of national coherence. The
candidates espouse very different visions for our country. And yet, though
America is deeply divided, we can all agree on one thing: We all want the best
possible outcome. We all want what is best for America and the world. And we
also know this: As a nation, on the whole, we get what we deserve. And this
November, Nature will give us what we deserve. But Sidhas and Governors also
know that we can substantially improve our deservability—even for the whole
country—by blissfully tending to our daily program, especially in large
groups.So... as this election season reaches its peak, are you ready to create
a burst of blissful coherence? A wave of national unity?Come and join us in
Fairfield, Iowa, for a month-long Festival of Coherence that we are calling:
The October Surprise!

As Sidhas, we can easily uplift our national
consciousness. We can enliven the all-powerful, nourishing power of Natural
Law—just by joining with other Sidhas. In Fairfield, we have one of the largest
creating-coherence groups in the entire world. Let’s take advantage of this
opportunity to bring healing, unity, and maximum support of Nature to this
great country of ours—especially during this critical decision point. The
October Surprise runs for four weeks: from Saturday October 15th to Saturday
November 12th. You can join us for any period: from a couple of days to the
whole four weeks. MARK YOUR CALENDARS! (Come for all of October if you have the
time.)We have amazing speakers, national celebrities, and special events lined
up for you.To participate in The October Surprise, simply apply online to join
the Invincible America Assembly (also referred to as “obtaining a Dome badge”),
and then just make your way to Fairfield/Maharishi Vedic City.In most cases it
takes only a few days for approval of a Dome badge. If you already have a
current Dome badge, please just come.Free accommodations (single room, shared
bath, dorm style) will be provided to as many guests as possible. If you are
interested in this option, please write to campusmana...@tm.org.this is a
once-every-four-year opportunity to massively leverage our collective power,
and shape a new destiny for America. DON’T MISS IT!With warmest wishes,Dr. John

|
| Special Jyotish Alertfrom
the Global Council
of Jyotish Experts |

 |

 |
|
| Dear Fairfield Sidhas and Governors,Maharishi often reminded us that the main
purpose of Maharishi Jyotish is to see the clouds on the horizon so we may
better prepare ourselves for upcoming challenges. On rare occasions, our
international council of Jyotish experts issues a warning of a particularly
dangerous time. Such a period is upon us.Building throughout this month of
August, and culminating in the final week—including the solar eclipse on
September 1—is a particularly dangerous time of deep divisions, strife, and the
potential for terrorism and global violence. The October Surprise: A special
coherence-creating course in FairfieldYou may be aware that we are planning a
major coherence-creating drive in Fairfield and across the nation during the
peak of the election season, called The October Surprise. That major effort
will involve all of us, and will have a much-needed unifying and harmonizing
effect during the pivotal weeks of our election and immediately following. But
this does not address the critical Jyotish window that lies immediately before
us. For this, we will redouble our efforts this month to engage a powerful,
protective National Yagya. But even more important, as Sidhas, we can create a
powerful protective influence just by joining with other Sidhas in our Golden
Domes and other community program facilities. We are very fortunate, in
Fairfield, to have one of the largest creating-coherence groups in the entire
world.And the research continues...An ever-expanding body of peer-reviewed,
published research shows that group practice of the TM-Sidhi® program can
profoundly reduce crime and negative tendencies across the nation. (The latest,
and in some respects most remarkable, research on our Fairfield
coherence-creating group was published just this February.) Let’s take
advantage of this remarkable scientific reality to bring unity, harmony, and
maximum support of Nature to this great country of ours—especially at this
vulnerable time. While our group practice of the Sidhis is by far the most
important thing we can do for our community and for our nation, there is more
that we can do for ourselves and families.Suggestions during this delicate time
from the Maharishi Jyotishis1) Stay rested! Enjoy longer, deeper programs.2)
Don’t entertain negativity. Don’t get pulled off the Self. Don’t allow yourself
to be drawn into any potentially divisive conversation. Avoid disharmony. Favor
the positive. “Speak the Truth which is Sweet.” Keep the channels of
communication open.3) Enjoy nourishing, delicious, easily digestible food,
especially leading up to the eclipse. (The eclipse won’t be visible in the US,
which will mitigate its effects some.)That’s it!  Let us hope that, by
maintaining ourselves in joy and harmony, and with the power of large group
program and Yagya, we will able to uplift our entire nation. We have done it
before, time and again.Warm regards,Raja John

The most recent upgrades focused on dormitory Hildenbrand Hall and its neighbor

main residence hall for women, was the subject of major mechanical and cosmetic
transformation. New rooms were created including a kitchen and dining room,
study rooms, a TV room, a lounge, and a fitness room. “We wanted to create more
communal living space where students can get together,” said David Todt, chief
administrative officer. The improvements include the laundry room and bike

painted and carpeted hallways; and an upgraded meditation room. Many of the
rooms are decorated with bright and lively colors including the walls, floors,
curtains, and furniture. The main entrance received a new canopy, landscaping,
and sidewalk. Two sample student rooms were also renovated with new paint,
carpet, and furniture. The next phase of improvements is focused on the rest of
the student rooms, additional bathroom upgrades, and a new roof.“We are all
inspired by the beautiful renovations taking place at Hildenbrand Hall,” said
MUM President Dr. Bevan Morris. “We are so grateful to Jeffrey Abramson, Toby
Lieb, Doug Greenfield, David and Marilyn Todt, and Everett Day for the
beautiful support they have given and their excellent and lively design. I am
sure that all the present and future women students of our University will
enjoy it very much.”A large section of Verrill Hall has also been completely
renovated, including four classrooms that accommodate the growing Computer
Science Department and 30 new offices for the Computer Science Department as
well as other administrative personnel. New windows and skylights, new carpet,
and upgraded heating and air conditioning make the offices more comfortable. An
anonymous donor made a substantial gift to fund most of the renovations to
Verrill Hall.In addition, two science labs were renovated that are used by the
Health and Physiology Department. The two existing video studios were upgraded
and a new sound studio was added for the use of the Media and Communications
Department. |

worked as manager of an essential oil manufacturing company for several years.
She didn’t consider going to college until she became interested in holistic
health and sustainability, and MUM was the perfect choice.Angela majored in
health and physiology and took the Maharishi AyurVeda Wellness Consultant
track. She also completed a minor in Sustainable Living and graduated this past
December. To combine her interests in holistic health and sustainability,
Angela has been focusing on herbalism and ethnobotany. She completed an
internship with an herbalist in New York, and as her senior project she has
compiled a booklet on herbal medicine for women. In addition to being able to
study her favorite subjects at MUM, Angela says she gained a community of
friends. “When you are here with the collective goal of growing and expanding
your heart, your relationships go to another level,” she said. Angela also
appreciates the experience of stress-free studying. “Transcendental Meditation
has brought me such peace I never realized could exist,” she said.Angela also
completed internships at MUM with Dr. Sandy Nidich, helping with data analysis
and the publication of research papers on the effect of the TM® program on
inmates. This experience sparked her interest in research and the application
of it to herbalism. She is currently doing another internship on an herb farm
in Mount Shasta, California.“Angela was one of the top undergraduate students
in our program,” said Dr. Sandy Nidich, professor of physiology and health.
“She has a very bright future as an herbalist and medical researcher.”Angela
has been accepted into an online master’s program at the American College of
Healthcare Sciences in complementary alternative medicine, where she will be
concentrating on herbal medicine. In the future she hopes to start a center
supporting research and education in traditional herbal medicine and plant
conservation. |

[FairfieldLife] Fw: Hanuman Comes to MUM Feb. Full Moon Celebration This Sunday [1 Attachment]

2016-02-21 Thread Doug Hamilton dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]

 Dear All,

It is our great joy to invite you to the Ultimate Flying Club's February Full
Moon Celebration on Sunday, February 21st, at 8.15 pm in Dalby Hall.
Our topic will be Hanuman, the superb Yogic Flyer, as well as the enlivenment
of Purushottam -- the government of Nature, in collective consciousness.
The celebration will include a very rare tape -- played only once before in
Fairfield -- in which Maharishi reaches incredible depths in discussing Yogic
Flying in terms of the union of silence and dynamism. He unfolds the Hanuman
quality of consciousness, with many details about this level of experience.
After the tape, Dr. Bevan Morris will explain how the unfoldment of the Hanuman
quality of consciousness can fulfill the need of this important time in
history, with a large group (towards 2,000) gathering together in Fairfield for
Yogic Flying.
Then Dr. Doug Birx, Master Checker of the TM-Sidhi program, will discuss
Hanuman's inspiration for Yogic Flying, followed by "Dr. Sama" (Dr. William
Sands), Dean of the College of Maharishi Vedic Science, who will speak on
generating Purushottam -- the rulership quality in collective consciousness
- through group Yogic Flying.
Come and enjoy the tradition of Full Moon Celebrations in an evening of
advanced and blissful knowledge of Hanuman the Great and Yogic Flying.
Jai Guru Dev
Dimitrios Karasis & Dr. Peter Freund
Please See Attached Poster

P.S.  seems like an appropriate beginning of the Chinese Year of the Monkey...

[FairfieldLife] Maharishi Vedic Organic CSA

In spiritual experience, ..nature has an eightfold divided aspect, and a

| Dear Supporter of Maharishi’s Programs,We are excited to announce that for
the first time ever you can enjoy Maharishi Vedic Organic produce no matter
where you live in America. This is through our new nationwide 2016 CSA
(Community Supported Agriculture). In our local community, we have already been
able to enjoy Vedic Organic produce during the growing season at the MUM Dining
Hall, The Raj, Everybody’s, Golden Dome Market, Hy-Vee, and natural food stores
around Iowa including New Pioneer Coops, Wheatsfield, and Whole Foods Market.
That will continue. But now, we are offering this Vedic produce to our wider
community in the U.S. You can have a box of abundant, freshly picked, Vedic
Organic vegetables delivered directly to your home or office every week from
mid-April through November through our CSA.And if this is not enough, and you
have a garden, we can send you young Vedic vegetable and flower plants, ready
to plant in your garden. Please click here to find out how you can be
surrounded by your own Vedic garden wherever you live in America. |

| What is Maharishi Vedic Organic? During 50 years, Maharishi brought to light
a complete science of life from the Vedic literature of India including
programs in 40 areas. In the last 10 years of his life, Maharishi unfolded
Vedic Organic Agriculture—because the quality of mind and body is directly

perform live Vedic recitations daily to the plants. |
| Dr. John Konhaus who worked with Maharishi for many years on this program
describes it as follows: “From the very beginning Maharishi explained why Vedic
Organic Agriculture is truly Brahm Vidya or Total Knowledge. He elaborated that
nature has an eightfold divided aspect, and a twofold undivided aspect—the 8
prakritis, along with Paraprakriti and Purusha. By enlivening and balancing the
8 prakritis in the food, Maharishi said we could create real Vedic food, food
that was capable of developing higher states of consciousness.” This is what
Maharishi called “Vedic Food for Vedic Life.” It is food for enlightenment.
That is why we wanted to make this food available not only in our local
community but to everyone in our broader community around the US who cares
about their own enlightenment. We look forward to seeing the rising of Vedic
America, Invincible America, through this new avenue of Maharishi Vedic Organic

Climate SummitMUM Alumni Amy and Troy Van Beek visited the 21st Session of the
Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate
Change in Paris last December, representing Ideal Energy. Amy and Troy were
invited by the National Resource Defense Council (NRDC) as part of the
Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) delegation of fifteen business owners. Amy and
Troy founded Ideal Energy in 2009 with the mission to drive the change towards
sustainable energy and help businesses and individuals invest in clean energy
and save money by installing solar arrays. Since 2009, Ideal Energy has become
one of the largest solar companies in Iowa, with 36 employees.Amy and Troy
became involved with the NRDC and E2 a few years ago and have been supporting
clean energy policy in the U.S. by telling their success stories and those of
their clients. Their mission at the Paris summit was to show the world that
businesses and investors support action on climate change because it is good
for the economy and the environment. “Solar energy is one of the fastest
growing industries in the country,” said Amy. “People want to
participate.”While Amy is working with the Environmental Protection Agency in
Iowa on the state’s Clean Power Plan proposal, Troy has visited the White House
several times to meet with senators and senior presidential advisors. Troy, who
served in the U.S. Navy for nine years, feels fortunate to be involved with
national security through renewable energy and resource security.“Most wars are
fought over lack of resources,” said Troy. “With renewable energy, we are
creating an abundance of energy. We don’t have to be in a situation of lack,
and this is changing the politics of the world.”Ideal Energy’s success is
driven by the Van Beeks’ dedication to clean energy and the environment. They
are proud that MUM alumni comprise 50 percent of their workforce. “Most of the
MUM student body are very conscious individuals and they believe that there is
a different and more conscious way to live in this world,” said Amy.“The
idealism that MUM has is exactly why we started the company,” Troy said.
“Sustainability is the manifestation of the consciousness the University
develops.” |

| There will be a Holiday Potluck Saturday December 26th 11:30am-2:30pm at the
community room (Gojindy) on the second floor of the Fairfield Parks and Rec
Center - free and open to the public - all ages welcome.

We hope this will be the first of many potlucks that foster a spirit of
community, connection, belonging, and self-worth, developing networks of
inclusion, support and service opportunities at a person to person level.

If your organization would like to participate or host future programs, please
contact the Fairfield Mental Health Alliance.

This event is inspired by the belief that suicide prevention is everyone's
business, and that personal and social connections are vital to health and
happiness and can help prevent suicide.

Every life has value, and every person has a unique contribution to make and
deserves opportunities for inclusion, support, and supporting others.

The winter can be a time of isolation, feeling lonely or excluded, and having
greater need for warmth, transportation, food, clothes, money, and more. We
hope to combat this by bringing people together to have fun and appreciate and
support one another in a relaxed family atmosphere. Everyone is welcome to
attend, to offer their gifts, and to state their
needs.___
Very very last thing - if 7 of us can chip in $5 that will cover the cost of
the space.

Thanks again. ___ Great source and info from Ken:

The Sound of SilenceA Piano Concert by Werner Elmker Danish concert pianist
and composer Werner Elmker will present a solo performance at the Sondheim
Center on Thursday, November 5 at 7:30 pm. Increasingly known in recent years
for his magical photos and videos of Fairfield life and nature, Werner is also
a magician on the piano, allowing the instrument to communicate in the
language of feeling. His music cultivates a rich inner experience of
silence for the audience, as one concertgoer experienced: “Your sound has a
special quality of silence, no matter how loud or soft you are playing. It is
cumulative. The silence gets deeper and deeper, and I notice the whole audience
sinks into it together, so that by the end, no one can move or speak. The
silence is so tangible, you can cut it with a knife!” This recital offers a
compelling selection of classical, popular and traditional melodies as well

[FairfieldLife] Fw: Fwd: Reminder - JFAN meeting, Wed., 7:15 pm

2015-10-07 Thread Doug Hamilton dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]

-- Forwarded message --
From: Dr. John Hagelin Date: Mon, Oct 5, 2015 at 10:24 AM
Subject: Reminder - JFAN meeting, Wed., 7:15 pm

| |
|
| | Dear Community,I strongly urge you to join me at the Annual Meeting of the
Jefferson County Farmers and Neighbors, Inc. (JFAN), “More CAFOs Are Coming –
What YOU Can Do.” This year’s meeting, to be held on Wednesday, October 7, at
7:15 pm at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center, has been especially designed
to address the increasing number of CAFOs converging on Jefferson County and
across Iowa, with community organizing and activism as the meeting’s core
purpose. Attending the JFAN Annual Meeting is one of the most important things
we all can do to protect our community’s interests against infringing CAFOs.
When we show up in force to pack the Sondheim, our solidarity sends a powerful
message to the pork industry that our community will not tolerate unwanted
CAFOs. At this year’s empowering meeting, seasoned CAFO fighter Joe Maxwell,
Senior Political Director of the Humane Society Legislative Fund, will present
practical strategies to help us all fight back against unwanted CAFOs,
including a menu of concrete actions that any of us can take, no matter where
we live or what our interests may be. As a former Missouri legislator, Maxwell
will speak on what it takes to get people politically motivated to demand
better protections and to stand up for our basic human rights to clean air,
clean water, and safe food. And because we can all influence change with our
spending dollars, Maxwell will place special emphasis on becoming an Activist
Consumer. He is a powerful orator that you will not want to miss.Maxwell grew
up on a family farm and is a long-time advocate for humane, independent,
traditional farming practices. He served for 14 years in the Missouri State
Legislature as a State Representative, State Senator, and Lt. Governor. Four
years ago he joined the Humane Society to oversee its Rural Outreach program.
He has been a powerful advocate for traditional family farming practices while
fighting against large-scale, industrialized livestock facilities. JFAN has
worked tirelessly for over a decade to protect our community against CAFOs—but
no community is safe today from the expansion of corporate pork production. If
protecting our precious Fairfield community from CAFO infringement is as
important to you as it is to me, I strongly urge you to attend this year’s JFAN
Annual Meeting. It’s an easy and enjoyable way to do something positive, and
frankly very necessary, for the security and well-being of us all. Please mark
your calendar for October 7 and join me at the Sondheim Theater for “More CAFOs
Are Coming – What YOU Can Do.” Thank you in advance for your attendance and
support. With all best wishes,John Hagelin, Ph.D.P.S. Please note that the JFAN
Annual Meeting begins a little earlier this year at 7:15 pm. | |

and the symbols of Consciousness-Based education for the world. Since the early
1980s when they were constructed, tens of millions of person hours of
transcending have taken place within them. And day after day, the most profound
experiences of higher states of consciousness have been emerging from them. Will
you please join us in making a gift to complete this project? This will help
ensure that the largest number of women come together for group program and
create maximum coherence in our national consciousness.Thank you so much,Vicki

Om, yes I see.

One thing that some of us will be able to say that we can thank God about
when asked, What did you do in the great war of world consciousness?
Some of us won't have to say, Oh, I quit and shoveled shit technical writing
in New Jersey instead.

AWOL? Asleep? Is not too late to come back to meditation and join the world
fight of jihad in a group meditation near you. Your small part of just
n-squared in the total will make an infinite contribution to the liveliness in
nature of peace and well-being in world consciousness.

Don't let yourself be counted as one shirker of duty. The need now on all
sides is great and so in the balance. Come back to regular meditation now.
More than your money, we need your life in the fight. Volunteer to commit your
lives to life in spiritual practice. A few more good meditators are need up
front. Now. The science is quite clear about this as is the experience now.
Help your selves and all of us. Come join and sit with us in meditation again.

It's not clear to me who this was sent to. I'll post that info when I find

Here's a message from Maharaja ji today:

I spoke this morning with Girish-ji and he lovingly welcomed the news

i.e. Girish doesn't really care for me (Nader) and looked at the news for any
suggestion in it that could be used to belittle and diminish my stature in
 the Movement.

  but
brought to my attention a delicacy in the notice sent by Raja Hagelin which

i.e. Girish found something in the announcement that he is working on so that
a scism in the Movement can be created. No matter how small the
inconsistency, we all know we can count on Girish to eventually attempt to
drive a Mac Truck through it. But like the scheming little prick he is, he's
going to let the delicacy fester for a while and then exploit it at that
moment when it will have its greatest effect for his objectives.

he had read to me before sending (but I had not carefully looked at it).

i.e. Oh, I looked at it all right and the final copy went through many, many
drafts before Hagelin and I settled on a draft we were both happy with.
Indeed, there was a back and forth between myself and Hagelin quite a bit.
After all, this was to be a major announcement and probably one of the most
important letters I will ever put my signature to. We both knew how invested
many cult members in the Movement were with the illusion that I was a life
celibate and realized the potential for a visceral reaction on their part if
we didn't handle it in just the right way. That's why we spent hours upon
hours on the letter to get it just right.

But in the interest of damage control and because that prick Girish wants to
control the whole Movement, he is putting the pressure on me and I now have
to back off at something in the letter to make him happy. After all, that
bastard has his fingers on the major shre of the Movement's purse strings and
when he says dance I pretty well have to unless I want to see the Movement
 divided in two tomorrow.

The following statement is not really accurate since Maharishi-ji never said
to me the following in those terms: Maharishi had told him that, in the
tradition of rulership, having the support of a Royal Family brought
stability and strength to the Kingdom.

i.e. This is really going to piss off Hagelin because he knows the truth:
both him and I went over that letter like a fine-tooth comb and he knows that
I agreed to virtually everything in it before I released it.

I gave him my solemn word.

But let's face it; I'm a doctor and scientist and I have no fucking clue how
the machinations and infighting amongst political types in organisations like
this take place. And Girish is a master at it; and of course he manipulated
me into saying that the passage in question is not accurate. So I folded
like a cheap deck chair on the Titanic.

This is why it is best not to quote Maharishi in this regard.

i.e. Of course Maharishi said it to me and of course I accurately represented
his words in my letter. But what can I do? The Indian prick put the full
 court press on me...

Darn, I only wish I had tape recorded Maharishi on it so I could shut Girish
 up...

  Maharishi has
been most delicate and quiet about it and all he told me directly when I
personally was wondering what impact it will have was: .this will be good
  for The Movement..

i.e. My getting married was going to be a really big deal and I most
certainly saw the potential for conflict if Maharishi expected me to be the
figurehead of the Movement after he was gone. Of course I wanted his
blessing and assurances before taking the leap...and I got it. Nothing
delicate about it; I asked him I wanted to get married and he consented to it.

Other thoughts were deductions from discussions and side
  allusions.

i.e. That prick Girish is making me do all sorts of intellectual gymnastics
to weasel out of what I wrote in that letter. Side illusions and
deductions from discussion indeed! I feel like Bill Clinton defining what
the meaning of is is with Ken Starr breathing down his neck.

Maharishi brings to light his timeless commentary

Maharishi on the Different Types of Samadhi

MAHARISHI: ...Let me conclude it by telling you, you have seen Nirvikalpa
Samadhi, that Samadhi which is eternal.

Another type of Samadhi which are not eternal, which are impermanent with
breaks, two names we have put down: Anandanugat and Atmikanugat
(Asmitanugat) - Ananda that glow and Atmika that pure consciousness.

Two types of Samadhi, one is Nirvikalpa, that is eternal, that never breaks
and the other is Savikalpa - Savikalpa and Nirvikalpa. Savikalpa means
that which breaks, sometimes it comes, sometimes it breaks. Nirvikalpa never
 to break, eternal.

Savikalpa Samadhi is of four types:

 - Vitsaranugat (Vicharanugat)
 - Vitarkanugat
 - Anandanugat
 - Atmikanugat (Asmitanugat)

What is Vitsaranugat (Vicharanugat)? When the mantra begins to be slow and
becomes slower and slower, this isVitsaranugat (Vicharanugat)Samadhi, first
 state of Samadhi.

Second, Vitarkanugat is that where the mantra ceases to be a specific
thought, it becomes only a rhythm. That is Vitarkanugat.

And when thathum, humming sound is also gone and you are left in that glow,
that is Anandanugat (Samadhi), the third (type of Samadhi)

And when that glow is also gone and you are left in a state which the speech
can not describe, that is (Samadhi), just 'am'ness, 'is'ness, existence
 pure.

In this meditation you have experienced all these four types of Savikalpa

Where stormy winds do blow.

What is Vitsaranugat (Vicharanugat)? When the mantra begins to be slow and
becomes slower and slower, this isVitsaranugat (Vicharanugat)Samadhi, first

thought, it becomes only a rhythm. That is Vitarkanugat.

that is Anandanugat (Samadhi), the third (type of Samadhi)

And when that glow is also gone and you are left in a state which the speech

  A very human story underneath.

 My feeling exactly.

As Curtis was the first to point out, it's the
WTF Quotient of this story that makes it so
fascinating. WHY OH WHY would *either* Tony
or Maharishi choose to hide a legitimate mar-
riage from not only the riffraff of the TM
movement, but from its supposed illuminati?

It makes no sense, no matter how you configure
it. WHETHER it was Maharishi's idea or Tony's
idea to hide his marriage from the TM movement
as a whole, there is almost no up side to
this, long-term. The news *has* to eventually
come out, and when it does, the credibility of
*both* of them goes right in the crapper.

But with the advent of this story passed along
by alex from the Netherlands, a very human and,
in my opinion almost *understandable* theory
can begin to form, one that is slightly less
WTF, at least on one side.

IF Maharishi had a proven history of reacting
jealously and vengefully against women who
dared to romance any of his boys, and you
*are* one of his boys and KNOW of this
proven history, it *almost* makes sense to
hide your girlfriend or wife from him. What
still has a rather high WTF Quotient is
that in this scenario the person you are
hiding her FROM is Maharishi himself,
fearing *his* wrath against someone you love.

Sadly...and I *am* more than aware of how
sad this theory is...this theory makes sense
to me. It makes sense based on the way I've
seen Maharishi treat his boys, based on the
way I've seen him treat people who lost his
favor, and based on the way I've seen him
 treat women in general.

So my current *purely speculative* theories
on all of this are 1) that it might have been
possible that Tony Nader initially kept his
 girlfriend/eventual wife hidden from Maharishi
and then told him later, when he felt that it
was finally safe for his wife to do so, or
 2) he never told Maharishi at all. *As possi-
bilities*, I consider both equally possible.

The original theory as proposed by Bevan and
Hagelin -- 3) that Maharishi was in on the
deception from the beginning and supported or
proposed it -- is still possible, of course,
but seems less likely to me because it doesn't
make sense on *any* level. Theories 1 and 2
at least make sense on a human level.

Now on a side mail here I am told, that Larry Domash left the middle for the
similar reason.

I sometimes wonder how likely it is for a long term true believer to give
it up and lose faith. And whether it simply is a drifting away or a more
  sudden aha moment.

Usually, from my experiences meeting virtually thousands of people, it's due
to lack of good experiences during meditation usually because of an
 undisciplined lifestyle.
That ofcourse is just one of many reasons but definately the most common.

Yeah, writing as an old and conservative meditator, I'm with Nablusoss on this
one.
My experience too. Simply are a lot of folks who just didn't sit up and do the
work of spiritual practice. Lot of people outright laid down and actively
went to sleep. Spiritual practice is something that folks do have to do, as in
have the discipline to do and work at. Not sleep at.

Some grace may bring it along to folks as a work come to be done. Even so,
some lot of people even if given everything never learn how to work in life;
just get by and some are just quitters in being ill-prepared as they are
ill-disciplined. Either badly nurtured or cultured, just bad material that
might have been made more better beforehand, next time.

So says the knowledge, people's experience, and the science together now.

The extraordinary time now is that the spiritual bandwidth is so wide and open
to so many in these modern times. A message so widely around now in so many
ways, Repent your ways and come to meditation. The opportunity of a life
time. It's even on Oprah. Hope springs eternal eternally in natural law.

[FairfieldLife] Disengaging (was Re: Fwd: Vote for Consciousness-Based Education at Change.org)

2010-01-27 Thread Doug
This is one of those more cogent posts about the TMorg that can show up on FFL.
Archetypal. There are many hundreds of meditators like this around Fairfield
and lots of others around the country also just like this. What was a whole
movement.

Practically, if Hagelin, Tony and Bevan et. al. can't empathize with this and
come to some kind of terms other than their own, then they ain't going to go
nowhere with the knowledge they got now. Like this post below, they got a
large problem in the dis-engaged, dispossessed, and those dis-enfranchised of a
Transcendental Meditation movement. The challenge is that these folks are out
there in the marketplace talking to others about their state. Is not a good
recommendation.

God Help them,

May I ask, how did you happen to disengage?

I sometimes wonder how likely it is for a
long term true believer to give it up and
lose faith. And whether it simply is a
drifting away or a more sudden aha moment.

In 2001 I lost my attachment to the TM
 organization without dropping my beliefs
in the TM worldview. To me, identification
with the True Self - pure consciousness -
is vitally important to individual and
collective health. I still believe that
 collective consciousness influences
individual thoughts and actions. I believe
the world is going through a phase transition
in the Domash-Hagelin sense of that term. To
me, the Science of Creative Intelligence is
a great explanation of how creation works.

I still consider TM to be a super-nifty way
to transcend, although I no longer consider
it to be the only practical way.

I realized I no longer felt a deep attachment
to the TM organization in January of 2001. I
realized it had been about a month since I
had yearned to return to the TM womb - a
yearning that had been fairly constant for
me up until that time. The switch just
 happened. An ooga-booga consultant offered
an explanation for the change in attitude,
but it's too woo-woo to repeat.

The shift in attitude was automatic and
easy, but it took a while to integrate
it, as the saying goes. Discussions on
Fairfield Life played an integral role in
helping my intellect catch up with my heart
during much of 2002 and 2003. Lots of postings
of that era dealt with helping people question
teachings and find answers to dissonances.

 I'm a long way from re-certifying as a TM
teacher, but I like what the organization
is trying to do and look forward to its success.

How did native Americans handle 'delicate' nutcakes, like this where the care
is beyond the scope of the group? Manifest destiny, how do corporations even
now deal with this level of psych brittleness where it is beyond the scope of

at every level. Questions at an introductory lecture were a pass at it. The

everywhere. In every group. Of course in a more modern world the care is more
socialized or communal as it gets beyond what people can do amongst themselves
to deal with that kind of brittleness.

Actually, a large part of the budget at the County level even here is devoted

about 25 years ago, there was a dutch teacher, Wendeline, a beautiful
woman, who was in love with Bevan.
She already printed her wedding cards , they lived in Seelisberg.
When Maha heard of it, he sent her away back to Holland, with the
instruction to the national leader to put her in a psych. clinic.
She was not allowed to visit the academy when Maha was there, she
was a paria. No one was allowed to talk to her.
the shrink and psychologist had no intention to help her. Maha did not
 want it.
She killed herself on Maha s birthday, by jumping in front of a train.
the church was filled with all her friends.
I was crying a lot, i visited her in the clinic, I was alreay out of
 the organisation.
the wife of the national leader said to me: don t be said, this was
 her last stress.
 Thanks Bevin.

 alex
wendeline was a gouvernor, about 30 when she killed herself, and did
a 4 years during study , something to do with creative development.
When I visited her during her time in de psych.clinic,I tried to
help her to start a normal life.
But Bevan and Maha where her only goal.
She couldn t make the choice to step out of the movement, although
 they already threw her out.
No one was suppose to visit her in the hospital, she was all alone.
Like I already said she was seen as a paria,
They gave the impression that it was dangerous to have contact with
 her.
She was a threat for Maha when he visited Holland, they said the
national leader of Holland, Jacques Uyen, the greatest snake there
 ever was in the movement.
He had a big influence on Maha, and for a long time he was his right
 hand.
He told me when I left the movement, in name of Maha, that I would
die in an accident or something like that if I left the movement.
I am sure Wendeline went crazy in Seelisberg because of all the
 rounding.
Before this time I knew her well, she was a normal, happy and
 enthousiastic person, very intelligent also.
Before she was sent, by mr. uyen, to the clinic, she was allowed to
work in a mother divine academy.
Also here she was seen as a paria, no one talked to her, she had to eat
 and meditate alone.
How to get someone totaly crazy I woul say.
 Yes, just unstressing.

possibly engaged to a crazy woman? alex's descrip-
tions of her *before* she was shipped off are that
she was a happy, intelligent, lovely woman.

It seems more likely, given alex's story, that
Maharishi just reacted JEALOUSLY, as he has done
so many other times, and GOT RID OF THE
 COMPETITION for Bevan's attention.

To his discredit, of course, it seems that Bevan
allowed Maharishi to do it. What a megatoday.

Possibly, given his age back then and the movement.
Your take on RajaRam could well be in play given the culture.
Still waiting for the Global Chat on this though.

In Icelandic they have this colloquial about leadership:

It is windy at the top.

Probably was lonely at times too.

Is interesting to see here how many of the administrative TB'er movement
marriages at the top have recombined in time. Amongst themselves and also
including some of the loner single men or spinster women having hooked up in
matrimony later in life now. The unions formed are really sweet to see in some
cases. More fit partnerships later in life.

There are small rumors out about another announcement pending coming from
someone really really *large* in the movement. Something about a long-term
male companion.

Best Regards from FF,

   alex
about 25 years ago, there was a dutch teacher, Wendeline, a beautiful
woman, who was in love with Bevan.

Of course not and that is why Tony Nader is liar.

But, having learned the basics, I am curious

am I limited to three in the next life? I know

it would really help me out. There is a Vogue

Carnivale in February, and Your answer may
determine which bars I frequent during that
 period.

 * If I only had one threesome relationship (two
women and me, so neither You nor Billy have to
worry about that gay thing), am I limited to
only one threesome in the next life? If so, I
may be more discriminating next time and not
choose sisters. Sister issues are a bitch.

 * If I missed sleeping with women of some ethnic
persuasion this time around, am I not likely to
score with women of that ethnicity next time
around? Knowing this in advance would save me
 a lot of time.

 * If I was promiscuous in this incarnation with
someone who was really smokin' and wanted to hook
up my next incarnation with *her* next incarnation,
is there any possibility of this? One of the models
could do just the most amazing things with an
 airbrush.

Thanks for Your time, Big Guy. And for providing
Your humble servant Billy to tell me all this
stuff. Made my day. And possibly, if Your answer
to any of the questions above is Yes, my night.

 Letter To Howard Settle
My name is Jamie and I've been here on the IA course for 2 weeks with my dad
Geoff, and while it's Maharishi's birthday today I would like to pay a
little tribute to Howard Settle, also on his birthday
What you have done to promote rising world consciousness is probably without
parallel in modern times. But I would like to put a personal face to the
sponsorship you provide on the IA course.
Our family lives on the Gold Coast - the tourism capital of the Australia.
Mum and Dad have been sidhas for over 30 years and I learnt about 3 years
ago, and my sister Penny learnt a little over a year ago. She saw such
changes in me that she fast tracked plans to do the CIC course herself. A
few months, after having learnt, Penny took advantage of your generous and
insightful offer of sponsorship for the IA course. She resigned from work
and signed on for 3 months of the course.
After settling in, she began to have some lovely experiences both in and out
of programme, and was truly inspired by the quality of the people her own
age that she met here. They seemed generally happy and friendly; there was a
 calmness and integrity about them.
She loved being at MUM, with out a doubt it was the best time of her life,
and at the end of the 3 months she didn't want to leave. On one occasion she
emailed home a quote from Maharishi that went something like all your
parents really want to know is that you are happy and Penny added, mum and
 dad - I am happy!
The other major development for Penny whilst at MUM and after being exposed
to Maharishi's knowledge was that for the first time in her life she knew
exactly what she wanted to do. She always wanted to help people at the grass
roots level, and becoming a TM teacher just clearly stood out as the path
 she wanted to follow.
While at MUM, Penny frequently tried to inspire us to come over.and I was
the first to respond. For 9 years I had worked at Billabong, the world's
biggest and most successful surf-wear company. I managed product design
there for the men's accessories ranges. There was a lot of interstate and
overseas travel, range releases, PR work and long hours involved in the job.
There was no doubt I had a rosy career ahead of me, but I wanted more from
life than work alone could offer.
I had experienced Guru Purnima in Vlodrop, July 2008, which I found
unforgettable. But the thing that really clinched it for me were these
words from Penny, Jamie, if you come over here - you will never want to
leave. So I resigned from work, staying long enough to train a successor,
and signed on for 6 months of the IA course. Just to put that decision into
perspective, I was the type of person who put his heart and soul into his
job, but on a fateful drive down to Byron with my girlfriend Gab, it was
like when Maharishi was explaining his announcement to start the global
Spiritual Regeneration Movement.the idea just 'popped into his head'. It
was like God sent down a lightning bolt saying 'now is the time for change,
and I just blurted out mid sentence that I was going to do this course at
the end of the year.and we both spontaneously started crying with joy. It
was one of those days you never forget.
After the IA course, Penny spent 3 months working on Mother Divine in
Vlodrop and then returned home. When Penny arrived back in Australia, we all
noticed what a life changing experience she had been through. She was
stronger, more one pointed and self-sufficient, yet relaxed and laughed
freely. We found ourselves going to her for advice quite often. She
continued working on Mum and Dad to go to MUM.
One of their responsibilities was caring for dad's 96 year old grandmother
who, incidentally, does TM. They had ruled out MUM so long as she was alive,
but Penny offered to move in and help look after Gran so dad could come over
and do the IA course with me, then after 3 months, all going well, Mum and
Dad would swap places. Mum would join me for 3 months and Penny would help
Dad hold down the fort back home. Eventually, after Mum and I return, Penny
will come back over to do TTC.
On a personal note.I don't know why but I've always felt that I was going to
be and do something great in the world, and while at this exact point in
time I don't know exactly what that is, I do know that this next 6 months on
the inward stroke on the IA course will be the perfect springboard back into
 dynamism into the relative world.
So, Howard, as you can see your generous sponsorship has triggered massive

privacy of his family until the oldest was old enough to begin school.
That time has come, and Maharaja therefore felt it was proper to share
this news with his family of Rajas and Ministers and global leadership.
Maharishi had told him that, in the tradition of rulership, having the
support of a Royal Family brought stability and strength to the Kingdom.
Of course, as was obvious to all--and as Maharaja himself
emphasized--nothing has changed, or would change, in his Administration,
and his continued one-pointed focus on the fulfillment of Maharishi's
global legacy: bringing Total Knowledge--Raam Raj--to the world, while
focussing on his own deep silence and realization of the supreme goal of
  Brahmi Chetana.
Many were surprised, including me, but the atmosphere was most festive
  and joyous.

Om, on the subject of Nadar Ram's secret Queen

anybody know the name of the hidden Queen?

How should we refer to her?

 Mrs. Nader

Is that good enough?  We've had four announcements come through now on this;
one by the Wynnes, one by John Hagelin and one by Bevan, and of course the
confession itself, and no name?

It's true, you people trying to participate here who are not in FF are at
really some loss for the nuance. It's great. Should hear the
ultra-conservative meditators out in the shops on this one. Yikes! Om what
fatwa issued. Is frightening, the truth of it. You'll never really know until
you meditate and live here.

Yeah, Edg, the coffee shops are just burning up
here in FF. It's all anyone can talk about! Why,
 just this morning...
