I'm certainly not a vet, so maybe this is overkill, but I'm very cautious about carrying disease/germs etc. when I come back from the shelter (I volunteer there) I am afraid, not that I'll infect anyone there, but that my FeLV+ boy will pick up some germ from there. So I don't take him there

HAS anyone done a CBC? I'm wondering if his red blood cell count is down, which might account for the shortness of breath since they carry oxygen. Pale gums can be a sign of low red blood cells. I'm not a vet, I've just got a dog with low red and white cells from a tick borne disease.

My guy is a very big (15.5 lb) FeLV+. he's supposed to be taking interferon on a week and off a week. It has gotten to the point that now after about 3 days on, he seems to feel bad, he curls up and won't leave the bed all day and won't eat. I stop the interferon and he's good to go again

When I first took General to the vet I use now, the vet started him on interferon, liquid, 7 days on and 7 days off. I did that for a long time but since he's been having all these tummy problems, it seems that when I give it to him now he vomits that day. Are you folks on interferon?
