Animal Communicator. There are volunteers as well as pros and you can learn to
do it yourself. It is just more difficult with animals you are close to. I
understand there is at least one website for volunteers. See what other

Melissa,
I don't know. I expect that Best Friends is better than some forever

house, from looking at the pictures. Not cheap to travel to, though,
for sure - I can't afford to go either!
I wish I could tell you the answers
Kelley,
Thanks for the info on Best Friends--it might be a better place like you
said--finding the right place for him is so risky. I'm so anxious that he

I could adopt an FeLV buddy for him.

I'm glad to see more rescues do house visits. We always do. More

Another question - Did they provide veterinary references? And, were they

And, were all their babies S/N'd, vaccinated,
Would like to add that I got Taz when he was 5 weeks old. He was the only
surviving kitten from a litter that was brought in to a kill shelter.
So there was a lot of exposure to my other kitties.
The other kitties that have passed after Taz died did not die of Felv.

Well, I think pet limit laws are archaic and silly and should be abolished.
But that's beside the point.

Hi, Sherry - I have been mixing for about 4 years. And I don't mean one feleuk
baby at a time -- I usually have at least 6 at any given time who are positive.
I started mixing based in part on the experiences of people on the list that I
read about. I have been very happy with the results.

Well, I am definitely in violation of city

Hi Wendy,
All shelters do things differently. The most progressive ones don't
have cut and dried rules, but have a set of open ended questions that
help find a match for the family.

Hi Nan,
I took the liberty of changing the subject line of your post to better
indicate what it's about. What a little love this girl sounds like!

I've never understood it either. But some people say they look to plain or

I think we all know what you mean but the AC suggestion stands. Given that
yours is a shelter, you might find a group that would be willing to work with

He's been on the interferon for about 2.5 weeks at 1cc per day. It doesn't

I'm so sorry to hear about Torri, I know how hard it is, as we all

For low dose oral interferon, what I've read is that it's unlikely
that the kitty will develop a tolerance to it, unlikely that it
will lose effect. One theory (note just a theory) is that

I got an extra week of the doxy, so basically I just quit giving it to him a
