I'm lloking for reccomendations for a printing system alternative to the
BSD lpd system. I've looked at CUPS and Apsfilter and both seem to
support what I want to do. I'm willing to look at other options
though. The printers in question are supported by Ghostscript drivers.

I've read the handbook and searched through /usr/src/sys/conf/NOTES and
found the list of snd_* drivers. I'm just not sure which one I should
use. I have an Asus P4P800E-Deluxe. The website says the onboard audio

config file and now under 5.3 I cannot get it to work. The soundcard is

I been following the progress of the 5.3 release and I thought they were
changing the shceduler from SCHED_4BSD to SCHED_ULE? Also I recently
acquired a DVD+-RW and was wondering if I should stick with using burncd
and growisfs with the standard /dev/acd0 or should I switch to using
atapicam?
I started by installing the pkg apache w/ mod_ssl.
When I attempt to install mod_php4 or /lang/php4 it wants to reinstall
apache w/out ssl and fails because an apache package is already on the
system.
Any advice in getting apache w/ ssl and php installed using pkgs?

I have made concat drive using 3 hard disks using vimum vm. Some weeks
ago one of those 3 disks crashed completely (bios can't even detect it

pppoe. So the first thing is to figure out what you provider requires DHCP,

I have an NFS server set up that I have /home exported. When the one
client connects it seems to pause for 30 secs to 1 min at a time and

openssl 0.97c has been installed.
Because they have holes I want to install the newest ones.
If I install the openssl port or the openssh port, the update doesn't work.

I renamed /usr/sbin/sshd into ssh.old, I comment out in /etc/rc.conf the
Sshd_enable line, and start it from /usr/local/etc/rc.d
Now nessus dont show me any hole and I get with sshd -V the correct

I haven't found any docs to tell me how to get this up and running yet. I have a
Abit VA-10 mobo with via graphics and sound onboard. I found that Xfree86.org had
updated to 4.4.0 and was able to install binaries without too much trouble, so I have

Is it possible to have routed(8) ignore certain ethernet interfaces.
For example, on a device with fxp[0-3], I only need routed to
interact with fxp[0-1], and to ignore the existence of fxp[2-3].

i installed mod_php4 from ports tree with gd options, but it starts
automatically a xfree86 installation what i dont need on my webserver.
So i tried to install gd-2.0.22 manually. But i get the following error
after make install
