it could corrupt the data" isn't really a good argument, because if
the process hangs and I have to punch the reset button anyway what's
the difference?

Thank you for the clarification about snapshots, Matthew. I went with
a dump to another disk and it worked out without any problems :)

e config files? Are there some sysctl's that would help this
out or something. I'm almost ready to just buy a 'gaming' *gag* router
which implements their own brand of QoS, but don't want to sink to
that level if I don't have to.
