Hello, I'm trying to install an HP Photosmart printer using cups.
All the online documentation I've read tells me to mv cups.sh.sample
int /usr/local/etc/rc.d/cups.sh. The problem i have is cups.sh.sample is
nowhere to be found. Is this a ports build error or a documentation error?

need to enable the service thru rc.conf. i did that... my printer works now.

Can you report the actual /dev/* it warns about? What kind of system is
it? Also - you might try a FreeBSD 6.1-RELEASE CD instead of -CURRENT,
as -CURRENT

often there seems to be a pause where the system comes under heavy
load for no apparent reason. If xmms was playing then I get a buzz sound
and the mouse pointer stops just for a split second, the same with
mplayer and vlc.
Am i the only one who gets this with most port installations?
I'm trying to narrow it down to a hardware fault or a 6x fault.
I get signal 4's and segmentation faults on nearly every compilation
any ideas?

I just fresh installed FreeBSD 6.0R,
The box connected to a hub and 1 more computer XP connected to same HUB,
on my home LAN, both can ping/replay each other, both NIC interfaces are
up.
XP is the internet gateway. 192.168.0.1 and BSD is 192.168.0.2

Compiling port Celestia 1.3.2 on FreeBSD 6.1-PRE/i386 works fine, but
while compiling works on FreeBSD 6.1-PRE/AMD64, starting application
results in segmentation fault: Signal 11. This leads me into conclusion
Celestia 1.3.2 is not 64 Bit clean.
