 Hi guys,
If you all want to use my team talk server for the broadcast, let me know,
I can set up a room for you guys no sweat. I have a dedicated server, so we
have plenty of bandwidth for it.
Also, I'd be happy to host the podcast on the server for anyone that wants
to download it later. I'm sure a lot of work went into this project, and I'd
be happy to help out any way I can.
Feel free to email me off list if you like and we can get the team talk
set up and I can provide the list with the info if anyone wants to come
listen, team talk is super easy to set up.

[Audyssey] MOTA beta four impressions.

2009-04-09 Thread Ryan Conroy
Hi Tom,

I found some things in MOTA that I just wanted to ask if they were bugs or not.
1. I can not jump twice in a row. I have to take a step after jumping the first
time in order to jump again. Is this a bug?
2. When you draw the sword, sometimes it doesn't play the correct sounds again
when you put it away and bring it back out quickly.
3. Why does Angela lose oxygen in the water? I thought it was supposed to be a
lake? It doesn't sound like that deep of water, what's it supposed to be?
4. I liked the original arrow sounds better. The way you have it now just
doesn't sound right.
5. I tried to load a game, and the intire program was unresponsive. I had to
close it with the windows task manager.

Thanks,
Ryan C.

  Hi all.
Just on further inspection of the system after doing the repair, I discovered
that microsoft sam is gone.
that is its still corrupt so the reg fix does not fix everything.
All this means is you can't use it and can't really change voices in sapi
programs without crashing them.
It also means no narator but I guess I can live with that.

  Hi Scott,
Yeah, the torch bug is one i've been trying to track down for a while.
it happens so infrequently it is hard to pin down, and a bug that
doesn't really make much sense because the game tells that sound to stop
when exiting and it doesn't always stop.
As far as adding staircases to the view menu that's a good suggestion.
It probably won't make it in beta 4, but I'll save the idea for a future
  beta release.

Hello Thomas,
Unfortunetly, FSX will not work with jaws. I’ve heard that it takes a
lot to get it to run on any computer. You need a screaming processor.
Anyway, beyond that, I saw a request for a link the the BCT chat room.
To find the page where you can enter the room, click the following
link.
http://www.conference321.com/masteradmin/room.asp?id=rs12e65f29fafa
You can also download the tiny plugin you will need there.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
Once again, that’s tomorrow night at 6 PM pacific, 9 PM eastern, 1 UTC
in the blind cool tech chat room!
See you there!

Hello Nick,

I've noticed there is a lot of discussion about FS 2002. While I know it
is the most accessible at this point do you know of any progress with FS

Reason i ask is that I am using Vista and Windows 7 Beta on my computers
here at home and neither of those can run FS 2002. So I was wondering if
you have any current news, good news, for those who are trying to get
beyond Windows Xp era software and use the current stuff?
Thanks.

blind flight sims.
they are going to use a chat room, however if there is space I wandered

I'm just shoving things round.
if not, then my next thing was the teamtalk system.

Hi Charles,
It was no big deal really. I just recovered the source code from my
flash drive which had a current copy of the source, made a few
additional changes, and recompiled the game. Besides
reinstalling/upgrading all of my development tools was one of the first
things I did.

Smile.

Hello fellow gamers,
I am pleased to announce that after about 7 months of hard effort,
Aaron Hoffman, John Sanders, and I have found a way to make Microsoft
flight simulator 2002 fully accessable to the blind.
Thanks to Scott Shade for giving us the idea and getting us in to
simming and for letting us know that this could be done! We are going
to do a podcast to demonstrate how flight simulator can be used. But
we were thinking of doing it live in a room powered by the TC
conference softwear.
We would use the BCT chat room because it doesn't get much traffic,
but I don't know if the owner would be ok with that. Any ideas?
So basicly what we would do is do a live podcast and then take
questions after our demo, but we'd also record it and put it up for
download as an mp3.
So for those who have always wanted to get using Microsoft flight
simulator, you'll be able to.

2009-04-09 Thread Phil Vlasak

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for a great beta!
MOTA is much easier to play now, using the space bar to pick up items.
Only once did I forget to holster my weapon and shot the gun instead of
picking up the healing potion .

It would be great if the healing potion would break in this case.
and Angela could say, "Damn I hit the potion!"
Of course you would have to check first for any creatures in the room.

I would like to find something in the room outside the Cyclopes room.
Some gold coins would be appropriate as the Cyclopes is known to horde gold.

2009-04-09 Thread Charles Rivard
The main purpose of a beta is not to play just for fun. The main purpose is
for finding bugs and making sure the game works on a wide variety of
machines. Of course, it also gives you a chance to decide whether to buy,
and to give you a taste of the game before the full version is marketed.

Re: [Audyssey] MOTA small bug, and a suggestion

2009-04-09 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi,
No, it is probably how the programming instructions were written. Keep
in mind programming is basically nothing more than feeding the computer
a set of instructions to follow. Sometimes those instructions can get
called out of order or the processor gets backed up and an instruction
gets called too late. Either way the sound or whatever gets called at
the wrong time producing a nice runtime bug.

Bryan Peterson wrote:
The sound bug is actually kind of common in mainstream video games. I
have tat old Game Cub Game Simsons: Road Rage and sometimes some of
the crash sound effects wil play after the game ends. I think it has
to do with how the machine reads the disk. THen at other times
someting will happen and the speec will stop for a time, then the next
time a character does say something it basically goes nuts and says
every line that should have been said up to that point. This can be
pretty funny depending on who you picked up in your car and what they
would have said.

Hello Nick,

I've noticed there is a lot of discussion about FS 2002. While I know it
is the most accessible at this point do you know of any progress with FS X?
Reason i ask is that I am using Vista and Windows 7 Beta on my computers
here at home and neither of those can run FS 2002. So I was wondering if
you have any current news, good news, for those who are trying to get
beyond Windows Xp era software and use the current stuff?
Thanks.
