A friend of mine asked me this question and off the top of my mind I
replied that since the Kunbis were the original inhabitants of Goa it
would seem that the Kunbi dress is Goa's traditional ethnic dress.
Anyone got ideas on this?

It is often said that the kunbis are the original
Goans, but pre-Portuguese history says that a group
of, I think, 12 families came from the north and
settled on the banks of the river Zuari in present-day
Cortalim.
These families were possibly Aryans, who first came to
