Re: [JAWS-Users] Internet Explorer or Jaws?
Hi! I have the same results. If you really need to use IE 11, you can use an earlier version of JAWS. I use Google Chrome with JAWS 2018, and Windows 10, and it works like a charm as well. However, when I get my old computer out that has Windows 7 and JAWS 15, IE does work like a charm. If any of you would like my Google Chrome Browser tutorial, I can paste it into a message and put it on here. Even Edge works better with JAWS 2018 better than IE 11. As we know, to use Firefox, version 57 does not work with JAWS hardly at all. Take care, guys! [JAWS-Users] Continuing Problem With navigating list of contacts in an e-mail group
Hello, everyone. I am continuing to have problems navigating the list of contacts within several e-mail groups I have created. This problem has emerged within the past few months, and I keep hoping that the issue will be fixed with a new Jaws update. Basically, as I try to navigate the list of contacts in an e-mail group, I get stuck on the first entry, and cannot arrow down through the rest of the list in the usual way. If anyone has found a work-around for this issue, please let me know. I'm using the latest build of Jaws 2018, Windows 7, and Outlook 2016 with Office 365 here. Hi, I did a jaws update yester both on 18 and 2018 and found that works if you give it time. It does seem to take a while to contact the server. Have you trieed going directly to the fs website to get it. I really think fs needs to come up with a better update system. Re: [JAWS-Users] enu folder
Yo Brother from another Mother, Once you unhide files & folders, highlight the AppData folder, press, Alt + Enter, to open its properties, tab to, Hidden, & uncheck this box. Now, you need to tab to Okay, press spacebar, & I believe tab to, Okay, again & press enter to save your changes. Now this folder will always be accessible. Remember to go back into folder options & hide your files & folders again. - Original Message - From: Kimsan To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Thursday, December 14, 2017 11:08 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] enu folder Thanks, that is what I thought. Re: [JAWS-Users] Using Windows7 Pro, which version of jaws?
I am running Win 7 Pro and am using the latest version of JAWS with no difficulties. As for JAWS Home vs. Pro, the software is identicle. The difference has to do with whether or not you are using the software at home or at work, and whether or not you have it installed on multiple machines. When I retired I was able to convert my JAWS Pro license to JAWS home, thus saving money on the cost of SMA updates. Re: [JAWS-Users] A Disturbing Issue
Initially I have 3 issues two of them are in windows 10 mail app and one of them in checking for update. 1. It has the same bugg which was already addressed in JAWS 18 but with little bit difference. In JAWS 18 it was keep reading the same mail no matter what to do unless you start JAWS or restart windows 10 mail app. In this version if I press control+end key and then control+home key, it reads the next email. 2. If I reply or type with a new email, no matter what to do it doesn’t read anything! 3. If I check for update, it doesn’t do anything after asking permission of changing app. With regards from Inamuddin with the Skype ID: Charlsdarwin1 Arguing with a woman is reading software license agreement. [JAWS-Users] anyone here use movie maker?
Hi, I have a wrestling website, facebook, and youtube. No, I'm not promoting just follow me here. I've been researching since last Saturday on how to upload an audio to youtube which youtube mainly uses video. I I have to include a photo with the audio in order for it to be accepted. So, currently, I'm using powerpoint to put the podcast and photo and save it as a video file in order to upload it. What I don't like is after I save it as a WMV, the exporting to video takes several hours. I have about 16 podcasts I need to upload to the youtube page for the wrestling channel. So, with movie maker, I know this can be done as it relates to putting a photo with an audio, but what experiences do people have with using movie maker with jaws? If you are a wrestling fan, I invite you to visit my wrestling site for blogs and podcasts by navigating to: http://www.therasslincafe.com/ Also, you may like our page on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/TheRasslinCafe/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
Re: [JAWS-Users] Checking spelling with JAWS cursor
Adrian, If I am using the PC cursor, I get the same results with my Outlook 2010 as you describe. I can arrow through: B e h a l f, o f, But it won't arrow through your name. However, if I shift-tab back to the "From:" line, and then press control-left arrow till I hear JAWS begin to spell the word Behalf backwards As I press the control-left arrow, I can then switch to the JAWS cursor with insert-minus and I can arrow forward through your name with the right arrow key. Not to belabor the topic, but just in case this clarification helps. Same result. But I should elaborate. I can get JAWS to go character by character through parts of the "From" line in your message, such as "on behalf of," but as soon as your name appears, this capability ceases. I can have your name spelled out by pressing JAWS key+numpad 5, but I can't go character by character. Again, I'm not overly worried about this. I only wanted to give Maria a workaround. But it is curious. I'm glad to know that it works on many systems and that perhaps when I one day upgrade to Outlook 2016 I'll have this function. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of David Whitehead Sent: Thursday, December 14, 2017 7:57 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Checking spelling with JAWS cursor Adrian; when you enter on a message, and do the shift+tab to the from line, make sure the screen is maximized. Re: [JAWS-Users] Activating Jaws dongle?
Let me add, that the dongle needs to be inserted into the USB port prior to booting up the computer. Inserting it after will not allow JAWS to find the authorization, resulting in JAWS running in 40-minute mode. Think of a dongle as a portable license for JAWS that you can take with you. For example to another computer to work on for a friend who is sited but has JAWS on his or her system for when you need to use it. hello; just to add to what David said; if you wish to have jaws authorized on your machine without using the gongle, you would need to go to the jaws help menu, enter on the jaws update authorization, you will need your Freedom Scientific Authorization Code, which is a 20 digit/character authorization key. this should be included in the package you receive. hope this helps. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of David Ferrin Sent: Thursday, December 14, 2017 9:37 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Activating Jaws dongle? Think of a dongle as a portable license for JAWS that you can take with you. For example to another computer to work on for a friend who is sited but has JAWS on his or her system for when you need to use it. JAWS pro or home will work on any version of windows, but if you own all of your computers and do not work on any of them for another person and get paid for your services then you most likely are qualified for JAWS home which is far less expensive. Hi, Could you let us know which version of windows live mail you are using? To do this, with windows live mail open, press insert + ctrl + v (assuming you're using desktop layout). The only important bit is the number before the point, which will be something like 12, 14, or 15. thanks, David. original message: same result with alt + m, there's just a click sound when keys are hit, but nothing happens -Original Message- From: David Bailes Sent: Thursday, December 14, 2017 6:56 AM To: Jaws Users Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] unhide wlm toolbar Hi, I presume that you mean that the menu bar is hidden. Re: [JAWS-Users] Checking spelling with JAWS cursor
David, I just put focus in the "From" line and maximized the window. I find that sometimes going in to a message, the screen is not in the maximized state. hope this helps. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Adrian Spratt Sent: Wednesday, December 13, 2017 6:53 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Checking spelling with JAWS cursor Interesting, because in Outlook 2010 I have the same experience as Maria. Yes, this works the way you describe, but it doesn't solve the problem that you can't arrow through a name to check spelling. That's a problem when you have the long "From" lines that come with list messages. FYI, you can get directly into the "From" field by holding down the alt key and pressing 1 above the letters twice quickly. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of David Whitehead Sent: Wednesday, December 13, 2017 3:20 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Checking spelling with JAWS cursor hello; in outlook; 1, enter on the message in which you wish to find out the sender's name to spell, 2, shift+tab to the from line, make sure the name/email is highlighted, now use the insert+numpad5 pressed twice quickly. works for me all the time. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Adrian Spratt Sent: Wednesday, December 13, 2017 12:56 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Checking spelling with JAWS cursor In Outlook, JAWS won't read info in the "From" field letter by letter. Re: [JAWS-Users] unhide wlm toolbar
Hi, I presume that you mean that the menu bar is hidden. To show the menu bar: 1. Press alt + M to press a menu button on the toolbar. A menu opens. 2. On the menu find "show menu bar" and press Enter. Note that if you find "hide menu bar" rather than "show menu bar", then the menu bar is in fact being shown, and there must be another problem. I got my info from this page: http://www.freeemailtutorials.com/windowsLiveMail/optionsAndSettings/hideOrShowMenuBarClassicMenusInWindowsLiveMail.php I don't have this version of windows live mail installed, so I can't do any testing myself. David. original message: I have a very old version of wlm on my desktop, with jaws 17, and when I tried to open the tools menu on it’s toolbar, alt + t, like I’ve always done, the keys just click. does this infer that the toolbar is hidden, and if it is, how do I fix this problem For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

In other words, when a third-party antivirus program is installed and is protecting your computer, Windows Defender will be turned off. Once the subscription expires, Windows Defender will kick in until you renew your third-party antivirus subscription. And yes, Windows Defender is free and is a built-in antivirus program for Windows (starting from Windows 8.x).
