[JAWS-Users] McAfee live safe

2017-08-16 Thread anna vimini
I find it to be accessible after the last update today I just can not
seem to find the about but other than that It works just fine for me
maybe someone else on the list can help me find the about

thanks

Re: [JAWS-Users] McAfee live safe
Hi,
The last time I use Mcafee it was not very accessible because about two or
three moths ago they change the user interface. So I figured since it was
not accessible with Jaws I would just use Windows Defender as it is
accessible.

Hi All,

Thank you very much for all your input. How I finally got it removed was
the basic way! Control Panel / Programs & Features. LOL I just had to use
the Jaws cursor to find a couple of checkboxes, & it went bye-bye! LOL
That McAfee removal tool is a piece of crap, & that's saying it ever so
nicely! LOL

DO you want to uninstall the programme, or just not have it run while you
perform a specific task? I used to have it on my old work computer/network,
but that was some time back and I can't remember much about how the console
worked. These programmes usually have some kind of routines in them that
prevents you from shutting them down in the task manager or whatever, so you
will have to explore the options in the programme's interface itself. If you
want to uninstall, that should be achievable within Windows the normal way.
Sorry I can't be of more help. I never liked that programme and it's a pain
that so many corporate/commercial places still insist on using it.

Re: [JAWS-Users] McAfee Removal

2017-07-14 Thread Jim Flusche
Hi Mike, go to programs and features, highlight the mcafee program, press enter
to start the removal of mcafee. I believe you tab one time to enter the mcafee
removal window, use your arrow keys, find where it says remove all mcafee
components or something like that, make sure you check the checkbox with the
spacebar, to remove the entire program. Staying on the same screen, you should
see a message at top of the screen saying removing mcafee, please wait. When it
is done, you will see at the bottom of the page, a restart is required to
finish removing mcafee, press enter on the restart button at the bottom of the
page. I did this to remove mcafee from my new computer, after I restarted my
machine, Windows defender security center was activated. This is all you need
for your anti-virus, no need in wasting money for other anti-virus programs,
windows defender works just as well as any paid anti-virus programs that are
out there. Now this is in reference to a computer running the W-10
creators update. But the steps above work on removing mcafee from your
computer, no special tool needed. I just did a tandem with Jaws to remove
mcafee from Ed's computer. I have now used the windows defender built-in free
anti-virus program on both my computers for the last year, no issues at all on
either of my computers. When people hear the word free and anti-virus, they
think they are getting a weak product, this is not true anymore. Why waist your
money on giant anti-virus programs that do not work well with Jaws, when you
can use the free windows defender program that works well with Jaws. Again, I
am speaking to those of you who are running W-10. If you are paying for a
yearly subscription to an anti-virus program, in my humble opinion, you are
wasting your money! Again I am speaking from experience, after using windows
defender for one year on two computers. I used to use mcafee because it was one
of the better anti-virus programs that used to work well with Jaws, not any m
ore. Just my two cents worth! Smiles.

Hello Mike,
The only safe way to remove any of these weeds is to use the un install tool
provided by the specific vendor.
In your case, it's called "McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool"; can't speak
on it's accessibility at all.

I use to be able to run a manual scan by clicking schedule and run scans but

go about running a manual scan?

However, it is working correctly in the background.
Make sure you leave the safe search enabled in IE 11.

Re: [JAWS-Users] McAfee!

2015-06-11 Thread jim

1. Open the program.
2. tab one time.
3. use your up and down arrows to see how things are set up.
4. When you press enter on an item, always go to the top of the page and
start arrowing down to see where you are and what has changed.
5. One must learn this process themselves, you have total control of your
mcafee product.
6. simply put, there are too many choices to explain on this list, you need
to read and learn how to do things from the program.

7. Mcafee has a very nice help section built into the program.
No need to apologize, everyone uses different programs to get the same task
done.

Good luck...

Well, first we are not leading people astray. Apparently there those of us

McAfee uses a browser type interface and yes tabbing is not the way to go. You
want to use standard browser commands.

I am shopping for Virus protection as well. If you get malware on your
machine are you able to locate it and follow the directions for deleting it?
If it finds cookies does it give you a list and allow you to delete or leave
them alone? That is when access is most important when the program finds
trouble.

Kevin,

From my personal experience, Mcafee is accessible through a large amount of
work arounds. I had it on a Lenovo notebook, and worked with McAfee to try
to make it work for me. They offered me all of these work arounds that were
very complicated, and nearly filled a 3 ring binder. For my money, it is
still Vipre. I have heard that the latest release of Webroot is accessible,
But the earlier versions were a bad experience for me as well.

[JAWS-Users] McAfee internet security suite

2014-11-08 Thread anna vimini
Okay I did it but McAfee is still not marking my spam email with the
word spam.

I went into the program to check if the spam filter was on and it is.
do you have any other suggestions?
THANKS IN advance
Hi Anna,

I have McAfee both at work and at home, and it is largely inaccessible.
The best way to start is if you have it in your system tray, or now I
think they call it notification area, right click the McAfee icon and go
from there. You may need to use the JAWS cursor to locate options, and
you may need sighted assistance.

Yes I did do a search on intrusion Protection but I did not understand

I am sorry if it frustrated you in some way.
but I had to ask the question in order to understand what my search on
the internet for intrusion protection was talking about.

I am not a wiz on the internet.

should be okay.

the sredder appears in the recycle bin and is used to delete files
permenantly from your computer.
when you send files to the recycle bin it is a secondary option to empty
recycle bin. this is from my experience with macafee shredder.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Mcafee and jaws 15

2013-10-30 Thread Gerald Levy

Are you using Mcafee Site Adviser, which comes with the McAfee Security
Suite package? The reason I ask is that McAfee Site Adviser is available as
a free, stand-alone program, but from the product description, it sounds
like it might not work with JAWS because it uses colored icons to rank the
safety of a web site before you visit it. Green means the site is safe,
yellow means the site may be risky and red means the site is dangerous.
Unless these icons also contain some verbal description, JAWS probably will
recognize them. I am interested in Site Adviser as a replacement for AVG
Link Scanner, a similar web site safety checker that provides verbal
descriptions of web site safety status, but no longer works with Google.
Web site safety checkers add an additional layer of protection that warn you
of potentially harmful sites before you access them from your search engine,
and because AVG Link Scanner worked well with JAWS, I was wondering whether
McAfee Site Adviser would work also.

Hi list:

Mcafee Total protection does not work well with jaws after some recent
updates.

good news, Mcafee internet Security sweet, is totally accessible with Jaws
15.

I still had a active subscription left for the Mcafee internet security
sweet.

So I downloaded a copy of it, and did an experiment, and uninstalled
Mcafee total protection, which I could not see any more, and installed
mcafee internet security sweet.

it was a total success, everything is available and works with Jaws 15
very seamlessly.

I set my weekly scan schedule options.

I saw that my real time protection and fire wall and web and email scanner
were all on.

I activated there safe website and safe search extra options.

I also used their cleaner program very easily and uninstalled c cleaner
and all of its endless updates.

Mcafee automatically does all of its own updates, so you do not need to
worry about them.

depending on your computer set up, you might need some sighted help to set
it up originally, but after that you can do it all with jaws.

I hope this helps someone out...

His voice is like the current, sudden or swift, he leads you through all

You might sometimes drift, get back in the middle of God's will, where the

Watch out for the rapids, and the hidden stumps, or you could be

Beware of snags and snares, god can gently remove us, because he always
