Sonoma 14.4.1 CAPS LOCK won't pause speech when chosen as the VO key

Guys, I seldom post or visit here. But here’s one where you all might have some guidance for me. I have an M1 MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.4.1. I updated from 14.3 point something. Ever since 14.4.1, I’ve noticed that the CAPS LOCK key will not pause speech in any Mac application.

guys, the thing is, there's ISRC codes which are embedded into every commercially released audio file, CD or download. This is how those of us who live on our royalties get paid. these ISRC codes get read by every dreaming service and all that. but when you strip those out, we're screwed.
