driving, so 21 miles at 26mpg =
0.8 gal. The 25 mile route sounds like highway driving, so 25 miles
at 35mpg = 0.7 gal.
If the shorter route
Is it worth it to go the shorter route
There are also wear issues in the brakes and transmission.
If it's the same amount of time, I'd vote for the longer
but smoother route. Gotta be more pleasant, too.

I got same mpg on one in Branson, drove it 1500 miles in a week. Nice
car, plenty quick, lotsa room.

Still it drove pretty good but why are all steering wheels so small
now?
So you can still drive them while in handcuffs.
Never know when that'll come in handy, gangstas.

If anyone is interested 1979 240D, which I log in every tank full is
getting
around 27 to 28 mpg
Wonder what a 1972 220D, 115 chassis automatic gets?
A 1972 200D 115 manual gets 30-31 around town.

I could reliably get 39-40 mpg on the highway (averaging ~60-65 mph)
from my 190D 2.2 5 spd. My 190D 2.2 auto (even with the same engine in
it that was in the 2.2 5 spd) delivered 36-37 mpg.
the RPMs way up just makes me want to drive fast.
This car is also alot quieter than my 240D was... I haven't even put in the
replacement hood pad yet.

Carefully driven a 220D will give about 1 mpg better mileage than a 240D
everything else being equal.

calculate it out. Winter, City, Snow all contribute to pretty
poor mileage.
