There is a fairly simple test for reducing sugars called the Symoigy
(or some variation on the spelling, it's been 30 years or more since
I did one). Extract the fuel with a small quantity of water -- the
sugars will migrate into the water while you shake the mix.

I have refilled the tranny 2 times now, tranny fluid is leaking
somewhere. Is there a tranny cooler? It looks like some lines come
forward from the tranny that are covered with fluid. I have not had the
car up on ramps yet (I know, I know), just wondered if anyone might have
some thoughts

it occured to me that I can also create a pressure differential by
lowering
the pressure at the caliper end. Should accomplish the same thing, no?
The problem is that the bleeder screws leak past their threads
when opened.

Rich, Could be the connections at the cooler in the radiator are
loose but check the lines first. The leak will usually be toward the
front of where the lines are wet with red oil. Look along the cooler
lines next to the oil pan. On mine there is a bracket attached to one
of the oil pan bolts

Thanks for that info. Same problem as you describe. On the tranny line
I took a piece of fuel line, maybe 1/4 or so, cut a piece about 1.5
long, slit it lengthwise, put some RTV where the hole in the hard line
is, slid the fuel line over it and put a little hose clamp on it tight

I had placed a 10 inch 2x6 between the GP and the brake booster just
in case it came out explosively. Seemed to make a good dent in the
wood and then fell to the ground.

That is what I was thinking. I don't know what level is damaging. a
little over a long time is damaging, or a lot shuts down the engine

Yeah, I was thinking putting the IP on a test stand was too much for
this case, but like I said, 90% probability it is a bad nozzle, and
that probably took out the prechamber too. I always kept a stash of
used injectors and prechambers, so a gump budget repair CAN be made.

I have had success using a one way valve as found in the vacuum system
of Benzes.
You just have to get a wee little plastic hose and use a bit of soft
wire to lock it onto the nipple and valve.
