Hi there!
I am trying to get OsmAnd routing to prefer mapped routes, i.e. member ways
of a recreational route relation, especially hiking/foot routes. I am told
this works for bicycle routes, but
a. I can't figure out how this works,
b. I can't use the same mechanism for walking routes

a distance from the gpx, because you have to cycle at the correct side,
sometimes even completely different paths.
Maybe something like that is part of the cause?

I think this is a really good idea. Simple, but very effective. Sorry I am not
an OsmAnd programmer!

I for one would really appreciate that, because now I feel half of the
screen is useless during navigation.
Of course, even fancier would be a function to slide the center spot to the
desired position when navigating. (Press/hold, then slide,
OsmAnd presents elevation profiles for routes, so the information must be
in there somewhere.

Ah. I see. The "display position always in the center" setting needs to be
off, then activate the Map Orientation setting "Movement Direction".
The you can position the "Here am I" arrow where you want it.

The other thing, developing a route, there are many programs for that. Why
is the RWGPS option not good?

What should use voice commands to do what, and give street names? Do you

This sounds great to me! Too bad I can't help with programming, but I can

Map layer config is not temporary, so you need to switch it off yourself.

I think stopping OsmAnd cancels the search but not the display of a category.
With a name search, the same results except after a restart the displayed
results are cleared.

Not render.xml, that is for the map, not for the router. I think it's in de

I have forwarded the message to the Belgian OpenStreetMap (OSM) community,
they work together with French OSM mappers and with the Belgian and French
GR operators.
I trust that they will check it out and correct any errors on the GR sites
or in OSM. They can tackle gpx-file errors only if the
Looks like the gpx is good, so the problems are with the importing applications.Maybe they have import options such as import as track, import as waypoints, disregard waypoints, disregard track? Otherwise you'll have to use a gpx-editor to fix the gpx-file before import. I heard that there are
eparate routepoints.
Then import and check if all the elements in the gpx are handled correctly.
You could also look at the details, especially for the wayponts, to see if
e.g. the name or type is shown on the screen after import.

I think Basecamp creates, stores and exports tracks, even if it can use
routing to create/edit the track. Even if it could store routes (strings of
roads), it will convert to a track if you export to gpx.

I have the same specs and version, but I do not experience a freeze problem.
One problem: In My Places, tab GPX-Tracks, the band wih the big + button
(Import new gpx) is missing. This was my favourite button! I hope this is a
glitch in the code which will be patched very soon.

AFAIK Basecamp is not a router, which would make it not the best app for
creating a route for a specific type of vehicle.
