Could this work as a temporary expedient? When Osmand has calculated your very long route, place a waypoint ("First intermediate destination") on the calculated route line at a moderate distance, eg 10 miles, beyond the tunnel. This assumes (I don't know) that OsmAnd would then fairly quickly

As a frequent mariner I would say that this proposed "Anchor Watch" plugin would be a very useful addition to OsmAnd. Would somebody be willing to write it? - I do not have the skill or knowledge to write the code. OsmAnd already uses proximity to trigger an alarm (eg arriving near a POI).
