a woman at 25 weeks gestation
has asked me about being induced around the 35-36 week mark. Her asthma has been
extremely severe during this pregnancy, resulting in a number of admissions to
hospital and she is taking lots of steroids. Her OB is saying induction is
warranted because
pelvis in the last few weeks of pregnancy - wouldn't that make more room
for her lungs?

As a consumer I'm finding this very intriguing. I was given suppositories in
the OR then nothing but panadol thereafter and went home the same day. I was
offered a huge C class drug to take home (and assured it didn't cross into
bm despite asking directly - big lie there) but I never took them. I
Do you know what she means? Was it one of those ugly OB dystocia moves?
I'm not sure what to offer with only that info. More please!

a woman I know has been asked
by her OB if she will consent to be induced at 39 weeks (ie right
now)because he's going away. Yes, you read it right. He took on a client
knowing he was going to be away when she came to the end of her pregnancy OR he
decided to go away after taking
Personally I hope that my healthcare practitioners will schedule holidays to recharge their batteries. My MW had a month off while I was pg and I felt happy that she was doing that rather than working to the point of exhaustion. The point is that seeking to induce a client because of a holiday is

this one. All I can say is that I hear it all the time from women with Obs
(surprise, surprise) and most women I know have birthed larger subsequent babies
but at home without obstetric *ahem* "wisdom". A friend was dx with CPD with her
8lber and then pushed out

knows of any studies around twins and hb? Or any studies where twin births
weren't excluded from hb populations?
