To do what you want to do, we’d need to adjust couple of things.
- Make sure a valid DNS server is configured on the PacketFence server itself
(/etc/resolv.conf)
- Make pfdns to forward DNS queries to that server

By default, there shouldn’t have any unregistration date on registered node.
That is depending on the different rules that you have configured in
authentication sources.

- Edit that same file and remove the violations that you don’t want
- Restart PacketFence.
That should do the trick.

Hi Fletche,
You can find the most recent signature of the getViolationVlan by looking at
the lib/pf/vlan.pm at line 189. Here it is:
my ($this, $switch, $ifIndex, $mac, $node_info, $connection_type, $user_name,
$ssid) = @_;
Let me know if that helps!

Sounds like you have a list of “authorized” OUI and the MAC address that you
are trying to register isn’t part of that list…
Please verify /usr/local/pf/conf/allowed-devices-oui.txt

Leonardo,
Make sure you have a rule in an authentication source that “Mark as sponsor”.
PacketFence needs to verify if the provided sponsor is allowed to sponsor or
not to avoid anyone being able to sponsor.

ce is a network ACCESS control system, the main focus of it is
to be “out-of-band” if you don’t run it in inline mode.
In that scenario, you can create some specific VLAN with speed limits and
configure PacketFence to assign them to a set of users.
What do you think ?
