As an afterthought: You will hear a lot of folks on this list talking about the manual focus feel of autofocus lenses. That's simply because sometimes AF isn't the answer, your example is one of those times. Manual focus would be the best solution. Prefocusing the lens at a spot where you expect a

Just like in the other lenses the quality varies somewhat. Some have aspherical elements, etc. However, thinking 11yr old and camera I instantly think of the 90WR or 105WR. Tough as nails, almost water/pop/mud/dirt/dust proof and take very nice pics. They are also rubber coated and easy to hold on

i've had a machine with 1G of RAM for almost 2 years now, been running 2K on it since last summer, and plan to up that to 3G after i upgrade to XP. the same thing happens at work on my XP Pro machine. CPU intensive processes like Photo Laboratory cause the GUI to pause and get jerky when updating.

Scott, all AF systems will have problems focussing on an even, bright, white surface. Simply because it lacks contrast. If you're doing prefocus, you can do it manually. If you need to use AF on the fly, then I don't quite understand why you want to focus on the snow... I would have thought that
