I fumbled my backup routine and now it's too late.
Normally, each month of images is in a separate folder on my
harddrive. As space gets tight, I backup the folder to three
different locations: A disk image out on an external harddrive, and
two different DVD backups (one folder of

I feel your pain. In Septmeber 2007 I lost 135GB of archives due to a
HDD failure. They'd only partially been backed up and due to a
schitzophrenic labelling system the backups were essentially useless

lost some 70% of my scanned files over the years, and almost the same ratio of
digitalized VHS tapes. My problem with the tapes is far worse, since they were
