If you start to compare medium format and DSLR, you have to think about
lenses.
Image quality, file size, resolution... it is only for pixel-peepers.
Even at A4 print size you can see difference how out of focus areas are
rendered. Medium format lenses draw image differently. And bokeh from
One has to choose between viewfinder and other features.
Viewfinder, is what you use all the time, even if you have no film, or
SD card is full...
You can think about Nikon D70 as a BMW car with wooden chair.
DS - as a BMW car with normal, comfortable seat.
Pentax 645 - it looks like a
Scanner capable of 120 film is a must.
It can be Epson flatbed, or whatever.
Depending on print size - you can choose scanner.
Dedicated roll film scanner is better, but costs a lot.
Roll film costs less than 35mm film.
At least slide film, like Velvia/Provia/Astia.
Reala/NPS/NPH are similar
Now it is the rigth time to get them back much cheaper, isn't it?

Hi all,
I'm going to try some longer exposures, maybe star trails, etc.
So far i know about possibility to run out of batteries.
It is bad. But how about switching off camera after release cable is fixed?
Anybody tried it?
Better idea would be to use fixed lens camera, like Yashica or
Manual says, that fresh set of 6 AA batteries (good alkaline batteries)
can take 250 rolls of film.
So, i have good Duracell alkalines installed.
I think, that i can get more than one 6 hour exposure from fresh batteries.
Whatever, the original question was how to keep fresh batteries, and
Oo, great.
I have 645 with FA 55/2.8.
I would like to hear about quality of zoom lens. Manual focus fixfocals
are rather cheap, but heavy.

So far - it is out of my budget. For that money i can get more lenses
for my 645 or mountain climbing equipment upgrades.

If i have a chance to get used istD, i'll get it. But otherwise i'm
planning to robber some bank shortly after P645D will be available :D
But more likely, that i get wide angle lens for my 645 or get 67.

One can make adapter, to the dark side, like Cotty did ;)
I still wonder sometimes, what is cheaper:
1) full frame body, with great prime wide angle lens
2) cropped sensor body, with extreme wide angle without corners.
3) MF camera with wide angle lens.
