Re: OT: Covid

2021-07-09 Thread Paul Stenquist
A prophecy has been passed down through the ages via twitter and Facebook. On
August 15, the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin, hundreds of
thousands of believers will assemble on the National Mall. A brilliantly lit
cloud will appear overhead and begin to gradually descend. The believers will
fall to their knees. When the cloud has descended, a figure will emerge from
the mist: the Orange God — the diseased manslut — the antithesis of a blessed
virgin. The believers will chant, “MAGA, MAGA, MAGA!” The orange one will pass
gas and pick his nose as the assembled masses cheer. He will then be seated in
a gilded sedan chair and a dozen hairy men with american flags tattooed on
their foreheads will carry the portly philanderer to the white house.
Legislators and government staff will flee before the throng, recognizing that
armageddon has come, and the sweat-soaked studboy will once again assume his
rightful place behind the resolute desk. So it has been written, so it will be
done.

Re: OT: Covid

2021-07-09 Thread John
Why would I need to confirm it. It's just something odd I noticed. If you want
to confirm it, find your own voices.

If it was signal processing in the brain it wouldn't go away when I change
position in the bed.

I wouldn't have noticed it at all if it wasn't just at that one spot and only at
certain times of the day. It's almost always between sunrise & noon, except for
when it's late, Late at night.

Whoever owns the radio/TV sometimes has insomnia as bad as mine.

The pattern is what intrigues me. Talk interspersed with music that sounds like
commercials & occasional (laugh track) laughter.

Also sometimes there's more than one voice like they're having some kind of
on-air conversation. Whoever has the radio/TV is doesn't listen to the same
station all the time. I can hear a difference in the musical interludes.

I've been told by audiologists that I have particularly acute hearing, well
above average (even after all those years in the Army).

Hell, there's got to be something about me that's above average, and I guess
hearing is it.

I think one of my neighbors may have the radio or TV on and there's some kind
of acoustic channel that the sound reflects to my bedroom. And that's part of
why I think it's real, because I only hear it when it's fairly quiet outside
and when I'm laying in that one spot in my bed.

The good news is that this might be fairly easy to confirm. I don’t know if
the mic of your cell phone would be sensitive enough to pick up the sounds, but
it might.

There is also the case that the human brain is amazing at filtering signal out
of noise. Unfortunately it is so good that it can find signal where there is
none, so there might just be some noise that is close enough to be like speech
that your brain thinks there is speech there for it to filter out.

I find their optimism and naivety charming and rather refreshing.

It must be nice to believe that after centuries of warfare, slaughter,
espionage and bitter hatred between our countries, our political systems and
our economics methods these great men and women, our leaders, their
assistants, civil services, militaries, media, medical, financial and legal
establishments, have finally put aside the incompetence, greed, infighting,
jealousy, personal ambition and overweening pride and egotism that have
previously been their defining characteristics in order to cooperate
selflessly and in secret to carry out the most spectacularly complex plot in
history with the greatest success imaginable so that they can secretly track
the rest of us as we go about our business of eating, sleeping, fucking,
farting, spending money on junk, and watching hours of shit on the TV all day
and all night.

Fortunately one man has cottoned on to their demonic plan and will save us,
because he selflessly has all our best interests at heart. Won’t be long now
before President Trump is at last reinstated.

It's hardly a secret that *THEY* can track any individual they find to be "of
interest".

They don't track everyone. They don't need to. But they CAN track ANYONE.

If you somehow end up on their shit list, they can track you and they can
backtrack you. Hell, the Panopticon was invented in the U.K.

I've read there are more surveillance cameras in London than there are in the
whole rest of the world. Computers and data storage get cheaper every day.

How do you think they figured out who the two guys who attacked Skirpal were?

I find their optimism and naivety charming and rather refreshing.

It must be nice to believe that after centuries of warfare, slaughter,
espionage and bitter hatred between our countries, our political systems and
our economics methods these great men and women, our leaders, their assistants,
civil services, militaries, media, medical, financial and legal establishments,
have finally put aside the incompetence, greed, infighting, jealousy, personal
ambition and overweening pride and egotism that have previously been their
defining characteristics in order to cooperate selflessly and in secret to
carry out the most spectacularly complex plot in history with the greatest
success imaginable so that they can secretly track the rest of us as we go
about our business of eating, sleeping, fucking, farting, spending money on
junk, and watching hours of shit on the TV all day and all night.

Fortunately one man has cottoned on to their demonic plan and will save us,
because he selflessly has all our best interests at heart. Won’t be long now

Both mine were Moderna in January and February, so the voices in my head are
just those which have been there all the time.

The French drink wine the English tay
The Yankee gulps his hot black coffee

More efficient or more effective?

If it's just more efficient, that's "Yeah, yea ... whatever."

But if it's more effective, do they have a plan for those who already got a
second shot with the AZ vaccine?

Maybe a third jab with Pfizer or Moderna?

In Spain we also had a mess with AZ, age groups and 2nd dose.
They ended up giving it to a narrow group of population (60 to 65 y/o) and
those younger already jabbed could chose their second one. Most people chose AZ
over Pfizer, that was NOT the government preference.
I got 2n Pfizer 3 weeks ago. Cases are growing very quickly for the last 2
weeks but this time they affect mainly to <30's thanks to vaccination, so
hospitals are not as impacted this time.

Jaume

One of my doctors put me on a new Medication and had just increased

It seems to work. Where I am, we were practically the North American hot

my city in mid March, and not things have started to settle down quite
nicely.
They took a bunch of restrictions off today, restaurants can now offer
increased seating, indoor gatherings can now be as many as 10 people
(last week indoor gatherings were whoever lives there, that's it), etc.
We now have enough people vaccinated that in a few weeks they will be
lifting more restrictions, and with luck, by mid July we might actually
be able to have something of a normal life again.

I'm able to book my second shot in a week, or possibly sooner.

Re: OT: Covid

2021-05-31 Thread John
I read somewhere that as they developed the process some logistical problems
cropped up causing delays for some people getting the second dose, but *they*
found out the 3 week period between doses was not critical; that if for some
reason the second shot was delayed it was still likely to be effective.

And in some cases maybe more effective because the immune system had longer to
work on the first dose.

The most important part seems to be just getting vaccinated with the timing of
the two doses not being a BIG problem. Plus, haven't some single dose vaccines
been approved now?

Note that I am not a medical professional and this is just the way I understand
it from reading the newz.

2021-03-18 Thread John
I think it's been a little over a month now since I got the second dose of
Pfizer vaccine. I had a slight soreness at the injection site the day after.

This week I had a day of super tiredness, such that I took several naps & spent
most of the day in bed. Don't know if that was related or not, but it was only
the one day.

Most of what I've heard/read suggests the stronger reactions come for younger
people. I've seen speculation the stronger reaction is caused by them having
stronger immune systems.

I dunno. I'm just glad it didn't cause me more pain.

Still one week to go before having my first Pfizer. Have to drive 55 km
to the vaccination location.
Silly organization: my wife doesn't yet get it because she is one and a
half year younger than me. This means we have to go there 4 times.

AstraZeneca is not vaccinated here to people above 65 year.

Re: OT Covid stuff

2021-03-18 Thread ann sanfedele
I had first shot of the Pfizer about two weeks ago .. sore arm appeared
a few hours later - very very tired for a couple of days but, alas, now
I still have headaches..
I don't usually get headaches but have had several since the shot. I
also had had a severe reaction to a drug for tacking osteoporosis two
years ago and headaches were part of it.
I stopped taking the med then and the headaches and other troubles
passed.. but I was pretty miserable or a while.
I guess I have to expect to be miserable afte second shot of Pfizer...
but maybe not.  Makes me wonder if it is possible there is something in
the vaccine for Covid has an ingredient that is also in Fosamax,
though.  Getting second shot March 29th - whatever occurs, it has to be
better than Covid-19.

I note that the Coronavirus pneumonia dry cough w/o runny nose is the same

come later.

I guess I'll have them in about two weeks.

Advice from a virologist, allegedly. Makes sense to me.

The new Coronavirus may not show sign of infection for many days. How can one know
if he/she is infected? By the time they have a fever and/or cough and go to the
hospital, the lung is usually 50% Fibrosis and it's too late. Taiwan experts
provide a simple self-check that we can do every morning. Take a deep breath and
hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it successfully without
coughing, without discomfort, stiffness or tightness, etc., it proves there is no
Fibrosis in the lungs, basically indicates no infection. In a critical time, please
self-check every morning in an environment with clean air. Serious excellent advice
by Japanese doctors treating COVID-19 cases: Everyone should ensure your mouth
& throat are moist, never dry. Take a few sips of water every 15 minutes at
least. Why? Even if the virus gets into your mouth, drinking water or other liquids
will wash them down through your throat and into the stomach. Once there, your
stomach acid will kill all the virus. If you don't drink enough water more
regularly, the virus can enter your windpipe and into the lungs. That's very
dangerous.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - CORONAVIRUS
1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold
2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose.
3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of
just 26/27 degrees. It hates the Sun.
4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the
ground and is no longer airborne.
5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if
you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you
can with a bacterial soap.
6. On fabric, it can survive for 6-12 hours. normal laundry detergent will kill
it.
7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids
with ice.
8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10
minutes, but - a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick
your nose unwittingly and so on.
9. You should also gargle as prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm
water will suffice.
10. Can't emphasis enough - drink plenty of water!
SYMPTOMS
1. It will first infect the throat, so you'll have a sore throat lasting 3/4
days
2. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then
the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about 5/6 days further.
3. With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing.
4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're
drowning. It's imperative you then seek immediate attention.
