There were some matched multipliers that produced results that were supposedly as good
as if taken with a zoom that had the very focal length that was achieved with
multiplier. Some converters are quite good (and expensive) but none is said to improve
optical quality.

the data onto the cd.
-Copy the image on to your harddrive and burn the IMAGE (not the FILE)

Each added element adds two more medium interfaces (air-to-glass,
etc.) and each have their own abberations, no matter how small, to the
whole. The more elements a lens assembly has, the more perfect each
and every lens in the whole assembly has to be, to the point

P.S. Still, I really like the idea of a digital with more dynamic range. I
would buy something like a Fuji 602 with that sensor in it.

I assume it saves its RAW files in 48bit color right? Otherwise the
extra range wouldnt be as useful.

Lately the 28/1.9's distortion has been making me wish I had a
Pentax 28/3.5K. You can see the distortion in the diverging edges
of the buildings in JCO's photo.
while i agree that this lens isnt distortion free, I dont think
this shot in particular reveals that. Where are you noticing
I think what youre reffering to is PERSPECTIVE
distortion which even a perfect lens would exhibit.
It's not geometric distortion in that area. I think
where the geometric distortion will show up more is if I shoot
straight lines near the edges of the frame. Maybe next time

Just got yesterday what is the smallest
M42 Takumar I've ever owned ( I own
ALOT). The 1959 vintage 35mm F3.5 Auto-Takumar.
This has a semi-automatic aperture and is so small the filter
size is 46mm! Way cool. It's even smaller
than the 28mm F3.5 ST/SMCT which in itself
is pretty damn compact.
Nah, you forget correction needed for aberrations. And things are never equal in the
real world. Not many single element designs even now. But I admit that there are some
excellent lenses with small number of elements and in some cases (Leica) newer designs
with fewer elements have improved
