Not really a direct answer but it would be a lot
or if you insist on using the tar.gz package... find the executable
(mode +x) file in that directory and launch it! :) u may find a
config file from that directory... launch it using $ sudo ./config
then $sudo ./install
that's it...

You have to build the binary executables from the source code.
I would normally do this as follows:
cd /home/ins
gzip -dc firestarter-1.0.3.tar.gz | tar xvf -
cd firestarter-1.0.3
