hat ignore the micro via placement.
There are several BGA parts on this board so it's not a simple process to
manually edit the vias and traces in those areas as I have done in the past.
Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

I've been trying for a long time to convince clients that are looking for a
format to adopt as "standard" to use Protel and with all the other changes
like Orcad->microsim->cadence and others I w
ure is still there underneath all the newer stuff and there are a lot
of shops that will be keeping it regardless of all the new "leading edge"
stuff that comes and goes.

the shape of the clearance is limited. Drawing it has been the most reliable method for me - insome cases I have drawn library components that contain custom copper & clearances.
