Patrick, Don’t worry about drivers specific to your interface. The conflict was with the Avid Core Audio Driver which, again, is only used when you want to use third-party applications with Avid interfaces. Further, there’s no guarantee of conflict even then. It’s only occasionally a problem

As stated earlier t till you start looking at interfaces from the likes of Apogee, Universal Audio or the Focusrite Clarite stuff. another interfaces in that price range i don’t know that you will be stepping up. There is a reason those cost what they do and the others are considerably less

This is the rub. Every company is moving to this software control panel. This is where you route your headphones and other output pairs, turn direct monitoring on and off, add any direct monitoring effects, etc. The other rub is that the factory defaults for these settings are often not
