P.S. Website sinclairql.net is up again, after the gold old smallish hosting
company sold their webhosting busyness to the Swiss market leader. Even they
migrated the files and hosting settings, only the cowo.ch website worked
after the migration. After intense back and forth with their (very helpful)
support, all my websites are back.

I just talked to Urs, he's aware of it. The hoster was acquired by
another company or whatever, he will either have to just update the
DNS or re-upload everything. But rest assured, he thinks it will be
back sometime this month ;)

Not that I actually use the Q68 FAT driver, but by chance I noticed a

I have not enough evidence to actually blame this feature, but would

Are you referring to the screen picture on http://qlheaven.blogspot.com/  by 
any chance?

That shows the most recent version of Launchpad, running in high colour 
mode, with a new system font (set from SBASIC with the CHAR_DEF command so 
ALL programs use that font by default, including Launchpad), and some GD2 
sprites presumably defined by the blog author for his/her own use (wonder if 
the blog author could be persuaded to share some of those nice sprites?).

There are only two "current" versions of Launchpad:

1. v0.96, the older version for systems without Window Manager 2

2. v2.10, the recommended version if your system supports WIndow Manager 2.

Both can be downloaded free of charge (password protection was removed back 
in 2017) from http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/gen/launchpad/demo/demo.html . I 
appreciate that the URL of the download page implies it's a demo, but 
nowadays the download is actually the full version.

Hi There This morning I installed Disk Mate 5 on MY Version of LaunchPad2 it 
Runs OK But When you Launch it it comes up with a Red Box with RAC when I Press 
C key on my Keyboard   Runs Like A dream  can any on help me Fix That Tiny Error

I confirm - Launchpad does not use the menu_rext file selection menus (or
any of the other menus) - it has its own file selection menus, for example.

But Launchpad does not object to the presence of menu_rext at all, it is
perfectly OK to include menu_rext in the Launchpad boot program for the
benefit of other programs if you wish.

At the time Launchpad was written, menu_rext was a commercial software, I
would have had to pay a royalty to include menu_rext, so I designed my own
file selection menus using Easymenu and subsequently used them in most of my
programs. It involves a bit more programming for me, but the benefits are
that all my programs use similar menus and I can more easily "tweak" the
code and appearance if I wish by keeping the core routines of many of my
programs as a "library" of routines I can reuse.

I confirm - Launchpad does not use the menu_rext file selection menus (or 
any of the other menus) - it has its own file selection menus, for example.

But Launchpad does not object to the presence of menu_rext at all, it is 
perfectly OK to include menu_rext in the Launchpad boot program for the 
benefit of other programs if you wish.

At the time Launchpad was written, menu_rext was a commercial software, I 
would have had to pay a royalty to include menu_rext, so I designed my own 
file selection menus using Easymenu and subsequently used them in most of my 
programs. It involves a bit more programming for me, but the benefits are 
that all my programs use similar menus and I can more easily "tweak" the 
code and appearance if I wish by keeping the core routines of many of my 
programs as a "library" of routines I can reuse.

I started pcb design a while back too. I use Fritzing and/or Kicad for mine.
Manually routing a pcb can seriously use up a good few hours of your life!
But it's [still] fun.

I will probably live to regret this but, let me know how/where to get the
DISA source and I  will take a look and try to understand it. I must say in
advance that time, as ever, is probably limited as my wife and I are in the
middle of dealing with a severe case of dementia affecting my mother in law.
This, as you can imagine, is a bit of a time killer, and the worst of it is,
she'll never get better.

I lost my own mother 2 years ago to the same horror, and my dad was recently
diagnosed with it too. Still, look on the bright side, it's not hereditory!

As mentioned above, all the best for 2018, and thanks for all the help, and
fun this past year.
