Hi Steve
spamd is run with option -u vpopmail
so if you use a user_prefs file it will be here :
/home/vpopmail/.spamassassin/user_prefs
and the rest of your spamassassin config files here :
/etc/mail/spamassassin/

If users didtn have to use auth, your server would be an open relay :)

Hi thanks for your help,
but first of all I want to enable SMTP authentication so users need
username and password to be able to send email through this server.

Ok, so how do I enable users to use auth now, and to block this relay?
Thanks again

it is forced on port 587
and on port 25 you can change behaviour using tcp.smtp file
Miki
in your /var/qmail/supervise/smtp/run
what you got for :
TCP_CDB=/etc/tcprules.d/tcp.smtp.cdb ??
does that match what you got ?
and check your tcp.smtp.cdb file
do something like strings /etc/tcprules.d/tcp.smtp.cdb w/o the of
course
and check if that matches the 2 lines Warren told you
/tcp.smtp.cdb
127.+RELAYCLIENT=
+BADMIMETYPE=
+BADLOADERTYPE=M
+CHKUSER_RCPTLIMIT=50
+CHKUSER_WRONGRCPTLIMIT=10
+QMAILQUEUE=/var/qmail/bin/simscan
10.10.10.+RELAYCLIENT=
10.10.20.+RELAYCLIENT=
Thanks,
Miki

Hello Guillermo
you need to remove the option in qmailadmin for your other users
and delete the .qmail of that user (check before if he doenst have any
other options.
in that qmail you should see something like |/var/qmail/bin/preline
/usr/bin/maildrop -A 'Content-Filter: qmailtoaster'
Hello
I did try on 3 different machines (actually the ones I tested were FC5/6
machines)
the others have a way too heavy traffic to do it in the days
all 3 had that issue

This may not make a difference but, would you set your smtp run softlimit

Hey Nick
Unfortunatly no difference
even with 2500 as softlimit
the clamd process just restarts like it wasnt started
I will try it on one of my test box later today and manually compile it
and debug it and we will see
What could be interesting ... if it works on a fresh clean
Hi Igor
I would first check your clamd logs
it you have warning messages, yes it is related to clam-av package
Cheers
