They can get loose over time and give the same result.
2 of the jets can also come apart (they are in 2 bits) so use a thin
screwdriver to make the joint tight again.
Also, make sure the 4 carb to manifold nuts are tight.

Mine was a lucas dizzy and the cap was loose. The 2 steel screws that hold the
cap on had stripped their threads in the aluminium body, so there was a bad
connection between the rotor arm and the cap.

If you can lift the glass by hand (from below) then it's the plastic clip on
the runner/regulator that has given up. The only solution is fit a new
runner/regulator.
If you can't move the glass by hand then it's either a knackered runner
motor (see fix above) or an electrical problem.

I’m researching making new springs for the Robin door hinges.
My latest breakthrough is the possibility of using 301 stainless spring steel
MK2 XR2 original wheels have 185/60/13 tyres.
185 is the tyre width in mm
60 is the side wall height in mm
13 is the wheel size in inches
I changed to
165/60/14MK3 Fiesta steel wheels
This means the speedo will over-read by 1 mph.
Its the closest I could get at the time.

Diodes are for working the headlight flaps in the 2+2 and saloon, so that
the flaps open when you flash the lights.
You don't need them if you only want the spot lights to flash (the
headlights will still flash but the flaps won't open).
Flaps will be open when lights are on full beam as they

The last time I had to find an alternator, all the catalogue listings for
the MK2 Fiesta had the wrong type of wheel for the belt. When my local
factors finally tracked one down it was listed for a Granada !!

MK3 fiesta bulb holders also fit but you have to be creative wiring them on as
you can’t get hold of the ‘plug’ that goes into it.
