After some reading on fenders, I'm ready to go for it. I've heard a lot of
horror stories about installing metal fenders, though. I have a set on my
Schwinn and they're solid, but the install took forever. The metal fenders
on my Kogswell used to shift around (a bad install; blame the mechanic:

I had a similar experience earlier this year. I rode the Davis Double for
my second (and possibly last) time, on my Hillborne with full fenders and
35mm Paselas, and wore my usual touring / long day attire: Nylon zip-off
pants, long-sleeve button-down sun shirt, and comfortable low-top light
and he's always been responsive,
detailed, and cordial.
Also, a lot of these dynamo hubs (and lights) can be had for a lot less if
you order from a European supplier.

Hey all. My son's 20 5 speed was stolen this week. He and I had
labored over it this summer, along with the handmade handlebar bag I
fabricated for it. Pretty sad.
Anyway before I jump into another build project I thought I'd see if

Tektro makes V-brake interruptors. Riv used to sell them, but unfortunately
they stopped offering all V-brake equipment entirely recently. I have the
interruptors on my Hillborne and they work spectacularly well. They feel jist
like shorty mountain bike levers and have more stopping power than
(Continued - argh iPhone!) ..explain to me why people prefer cantis to
V-brakes. I just don't get it.
